Hi Harmy, I am sure you are already well aware of this but I felt that I should mention it to you just in case.  I recently watched Empire Strikes Back and I noticed that the lightsabers appear to have a ring effect surrounding them.  I specifically noticed this beginning at 1:44:53.

I compared these scenes to other versions of ESB that I have and the ring is significantly more noticeable in your version.  Anyway, sorry if this is old news.  I just wanted to bring it to your attention in case.

Ah, thanks.  Didn't realize each one had their own dedicated thread.

It may seem like I'm not releasing the covers, actually I've had no time to work on them. I've been trying to get as much school work done before fall break as I can so I can get my diploma faster. Since the work is all computer based, my eyes can't look at a computer screen at the end of the day. Now it's break and I can focus on the covers which should be done by the end of next week.

At least you've got your priorities straight.  Glad to hear you're working on those covers again.  Really looking forward to them.

I definitely would prefer a version with "fixes" that were obviously errors in the original. Things such as Vader's white saber, R2's blue panels in space, the revised guards at the end ceremony in Star Wars always look "off" to me. However, it's Harmy's project and I respect his decisions. I would also "fix" the imperial badges in Empire, etc.. but I guess we could always insert that stuff ourselves if we really need to see them that badly.
Yes, you can do it yourself. That's what started this whole project!

In all honesty, I think there should be sometime similar to what you're describing: something with fixes, but not edit changes. But Harmy doesn't have to do it.

Thanks for the link.  Amazing that we're here a year later, and Harmy delivered just as promised and then some.  Unbelievable. :golfclap:

Hate to ask for an ETA, but there's a fella I'm trying to get into fanedits and theatrical restorations and I said I'd probably just wait until you were done with the version you're working on before I sent anything. I mean, I could send ESB and ROTJ separately, but if you tell me it's not gonna be very long, I'll send him the trilogy all at once. :p Thanks.

He has mentioned that he will be starting school again very soon.  That is definitely going to slow development down a bit.  I would just send your friend the current trilogy if I were you.

Apologies if this has been covered.  How do I burn these onto a dual layer DVD to be watched on a Blu Ray player?

EDIT: sorry, I see the format is AVCHD DVD9.  Do i just burn everything straight to DVD as a data disc? Can I use imgburn since its free software?

Ok, glad it wasn't just me. The only reason I was concerned was because both Harmy's and retail covers were a little wider than those Struzan covers.

I guess if I could suggest anything to people making custom covers is to make the covers as close to 10.5 inches as possible.  Even if it is a little over, excess from either side can easily be cut.  Making an image wider for those printing these out isn't really a possibility without losing detail and quality in the image.

It might be printing issues.  Am I correct in assuming that those Drew Struzan covers were done by Video Collector?  I printed his out, and his dimensions are 10.43 by 5.85 inches.  That height appears to be perfect but that width isn't wide enough.  When I print out Harmy's covers I have to scale them down since they are really high resolution.  Since VS's height appears to be perfect I used that to resize Harmy's height.  When I do that Harmy's cover width is just a tad too wide, but that was easily fixed by cutting a little from one of the sides.

So Harmy's covers worked out great for me, but VS's are not wide enough.  Then again I could be going about this whole thing the wrong way.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to check it out.

I just finished downloading all of these and I have to say that they are amazing.  Thank you and everyone else for all of the hard work.  I know that I personally will always appreciate it.

I hate asking for anything when you have already provided so much, but I was wondering if there was any chance you could provide the DVD label art you posted, with the center filled in with the same art?  I know someone else brought it up in the last page.  For those who use Inkjet printable DVD+R's it definitely give it a more professional look.  If not its cool, just thought I'd ask.

I've really liked a few examples of Tyler Scout's 'cluttered'-looking 'mondo'-style illustrations in the past, and I've just come across these ones that he's done of the Original Trilogy.  I reckon they'd make a neat set of covers, so take a look -

Has anyone experimented with these yet?  Tyler Stout is an amazing artist who needs some DVD/Blu-Ray cover love. :)

dark_jedi,

You are one amazing individual!  Thank you for everything you have done with OUT.  The picture quality on these movies is superb.  Not to mention that IT IS THE ORIGINAL UNALTERED TRILOGY!  Enough thanks cannot be expressed.

A big shout out to anyone else who may have helped bring this project to life.  I am loving this community.

Looking for some help with DVD labeling.
Time

From what I understand, it is best to use DVD's that are already InkJet ready since the stick on labels have the potential of either peeling off or warping.  I don't want those labels peeling off inside of my Blu-Ray/DVD player.  I considered Lightscribe, but from what I can see it only writes in black and what ever color paper is already on the DVD.

I was hoping to see if anyone with a CD/DVD InkJet Label ready printer would be willing to print some DVD labels for me.  If it helps I already have DVD-9 InkJet ready blanks.  I would even be open to alternatives, I don't know what else I could try.

I was hoping to do all of this myself, but I was surprised to see that none of the FedEx Office stores provide this feature.  I even considered buying a new printer with this feature.  However since I already own a perfectly good printer and I don't have the extra cash for one anyway I don't really know what else to try. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
