STAR WARS TRILOGY The Very Special Edition (Feature length parody compilation) Version 1.0 available now.
Time

Thanks :-)
Yeah, I'm gonna redo the Yoda scene, I realy like some of it, though, so the lines that are from the movie are staying in the order of appearence in the scene as is.

"Feel it!"

"All right, I'll give it a try...    ...I can't, it's too big...!"

"Size matters not..."

Call me immature, I just love it :-D

Well, it wasn't always possible to make the jokes work with the actual footage or at leats make them work as well (eg. the scene where Luke imagines what it would be like if they were "father and son.") I could use the FAMILY GUY jokes as a voice-over because they are mostly faithfull to the orig. scenes and only change the dialog, whereas ROBOT CHICKEN often expands on the existing scenes and so the film footage doesn't fit the dialog)

As to what kind of decisions kept material in or out of this Version 1.0... Well mainly I only used the jokes that I really liked (so most of ROBOT CHICKEN but eg. just a few from FAMILY GUY). Then of course I couldn't use anything that contradicted the storyline. I tried to keep the original story understandable from this cut but keep the whole trilogy under two hours which it think I pretty much managed to do.

Don't have time for more right now but I'll get back to you.

STAR WARS TRILOGY The Very Special Edition (Feature length parody compilation) Version 1.0 available now.
Time

Intercuting the OT films with many different STAR WARS parodies I put together the whole story of the STAR WARS TRILOGY. I used the ROBOT CHICKEN STAR WARS Specials, the FAMILY GUY Blue Harvest and Something, Something, Something Dark Side, the BBC Darth Vader in Love Spoofs, various fan made parodies I'd found on YOUTUBE, highlights of the STAR WARS Holiday Special and a few jokes of my own creation to compile this 1hr 55min video.

This is version 1.0 and I'm hoping for some feedback from you guys. Having watched the whole thing once so far I've already spoted some problems that I'd like to fix in the STAR WARS TRILOGY The Very Special Edition Special Edition :-)

I'm still uploading but once it's done I'll post a YOUTUBE link.

For now, just some clips I uploaded during production:

THE STAR WARS SAGA - 1080P AVCHD DVD-9 for PS3 & Blu-Ray players - Episodes 1, 4 & 5 available now

Concerning no Hayden in Return of the Jedi, I gave it my best shot and replaced Hayden Christensen with Sebastian Shaw in 1080p HD.

The source of the original footage I used for this is definitely not the best one out there so I'm betting someone with better skills and resources then mine could do better. But anyway, EdFarmer, if you wanted to use it for your projection(if you have the wookie groomer's color corrected version, it should be really easy to cut this into it in something like the movie maker, which is a part of windows, no science) I could upload the original file somewhere for you :-)

2006 DVD OOT
Time

For me the GOUT DVDs are quite bad, at first they seemed a good enough replacement of the 2004 shits because although they were lacking some resolution when compared to the 2004 DVDs, they were both still just SD and losing just a little over 20% of resolution was a good enough price for watching the original film. But then I got the 1080p versions and the loss of almost 85% of resolution (oh yes, it's that much, just made the calculations) is enough for me to consider watching the  SEs.

I even tried my own little preservation project, which I never published outside of my university's network, but here's an excerpt of the readme file:

 ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

STAR WARS - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK 1980 720p HDTV&DVD WMV

    ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

     Format       : WMV HD
     Video      : 1280x720 progressive
     Audio      : English STEREO
     Subs         : NONE
Source       : HDTV & DVD (resp. LaserDisc)
     IMDB         : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080684/

    ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

...and then once, while watching the OTT DVD
release of the second  movie, which is my favourite of the Star Wars
films, it occured to me, that especially The Empire Strikes Back
remained for the most part unchanged and that I could make
a version that would preserve the original scenes, which were
changed for either the 1997 Special Editon or the 2004 DVD release
of the SE, using the 2006 DVD as a source and yet keep the high
resolution in the unchanged ones. And after long hours of work
the result is finally here. I didn't try to enhance the quality
of the DVD sourced materials and I also didn't give a sh*t about
the different soundmixes, the only thing I changed concerning
the sound were the changed lines (like Luke's "You're lucky you
don't taste very good" or lord Vader's line "Bring my shuttle"
and I of course restored the original Boba Fett's voice, so he
doesn't sound like an Aborigine any more.)
I also encoded this only in 720p because converting the laserdisc
sourced low-res materials to 1080p seemed a little too much.
I am planning of doing the same with the other two films in the
future but it may take a while and as the original Star Wars film
had been changed so much in the SE, I'm not even sure if there's
a point in doing this with it...

So I did this with TESB and the results weren't perfect. I was very happy to have obtained Adywan's colour corrected 1080p Han shoots 1st STAR WARS and 1080p 1997 SE TESB and those are probably the versions I'll watch until there is a superior (in content as much as in quality) blu-ray release of these films. Can't wait for Adywan to release his 1080p no Hayden ROTJ!

Oops, went a little of topic there but well not entirely, it all concerned my view of the GOUT in some way.

Furthermore the GOUT DVDs were not a response to the fans' demand, it was a response to the bootleg market and the massive e-bay reselling of OUT LDs from which Lucasfilm didn't see a single penny. So basically they released a release that would be just a tiny little bit better than all the other versions availabe to public, making all those who'd buy the laserdiscs or the bootlegs reconsider and put their money in Lucas' pocket instead, buying more 2004 DVDs along with it all over again. Very clever marketing.

I'm glad there's a new petition, OUT deserves an HD transfer!

Definitive Collection Laserdisc Box for GOUT
Time

I've had this idea for quite some time now but never got round to doing it till now. So here goes: I decided to recreate the 1993 Definitive Collection Laserdisc Box at a normal DVD size to use for my GOUT DVDs as they are basically a copy of these LDs and I think it would look kinda cool in my collection of various releases of the OT.

But I need some help from you guys. I know many of you have the real Definitive Collection Laserdisc Box Set and I'm still missing some parts so it would be great if someone could provide me with some hi-res scans of all the pats of the box including the sleaves for the films as I was only able to find low-res ones on the net.

Thanks a lot.

Here's what I've done so far (only a low-res version)

THE STAR WARS SAGA - 1080P AVCHD DVD-9 for PS3 & Blu-Ray players - Episodes 1, 4 & 5 available now

As I said elswhere, I'm not a big fan of ANH:R as it is basicaly a Super Special Edition and also I don't give a **** about the prequels and therefore hate any attempts of altering the OT films to tie them in with the PT, which is something ADYWAN does in revisited and fair enough, it's his cut and if he likes the prequels that's fine by me. But IMHO it's butchering and the prequels should have been tied up with the originals and not the other way round.

I love ADYWAN's 1080p AVCHD color corrected versions, he made the SEs watchable by making Han shoot first and putting back the original emperor in TESB (the one in the 2004 version looked like the fat emperor from ROTS and not at all like the one from ROTJ, he would have to loose a lot of weight during those three years :-)  ) and the awsome color correction work on both films. Can't wait for ROTJ, so that I'll have the complete trilogy without the tying in crap (ADY said he'll remove Hayden and Naboo from ROTJ) with great color in the best resolution available.

If Adywan reads this, I'd like to thank him a million for the brilliant work on these 1080p versions and I'd like to aks him how on Earth did he make the emperor look so damn good in TESB as it apparently is not an upscale of the scene from GOUT because GOUT is nowhere near this quality and I don't think that even a very good 1997 SE LD transfer would suffice for making it look this good.

I completely agree, that the Jabba scene shouldn't be there, I was just pointing out the possibility of making the scene this way and I think that's the way it should have been done in the SE.

ILM should be able to make it look awsome but the real reason for the SE was to test the technology for ep.I, making a lot of money, so Jabba in SW was basicaly a test of technology for Jar Jar.

Anyway, I'd take the OOT over any altered edition anytime if it was a good quality (with HD out there it's kinda hard going back to crappy LD transfers).

To be honest I'm not even a big fan of ANH:R as it is basicaly a Super Special Edition and also I don't give a **** about the prequels and therefore hate any attempts of altering the OT films to tie them in with the PT, which is something ADY does in revisited and fair enough, it's his cut and if likes the prequels that's fine by me.

Well, I once came up with this idea:

Han and Jabba Ultimate

I was surprised to see no one seems to have come up with this. If the Jabba scene was to be kept, it would have to look something like this IMO.

How? :)

Well in answer to your question I put together a small video, it was done very very roughly and I'm sure someone as skilled as Adywan could make it way better.
