I've used astraweb and supernews (giganews reseller) with no luck.  I'll give them a shot.  Thanks.
I've managed to get all my rar's to pass the checks in QuickPar after a lot of re-downloading of files. Anyway, do you have a rapidshare, netload or megaupload account?

I'm happy to upload a few files for you if this will help you although it may take a little while due to my poor upload speed!

Let me know.
Andy

Thanks Andy! The problem isn't that I'm missing any files as much as the fact that I have incomplete files. I can grab rars from any of the accounts, but I'd need quite a few to fix it (I imagine).

Parts: 001, 004, 005, 007, 011, 012, 014, 015, 017, 018, 020, 021, 024, 027, 030, 033, 055, , 059, 061, 062, 064, 067, 070, 073, 076, 079, 082, 098, 136, 139, 142, 156, 195, 198, 201, , 207, 210, 214, 219, 261, 269, 352, 366, and 370 are all incomplete :( Thanks for all of your help!

Can someone with the Phantom Menace BD50 verify their copy plays past 1:24:00? I get this in mplayer:

top block unavailable for requested intra4x4 mode -1 at 44 34
error while decoding MB 44 34, bytestream (15260)
concealing 2040 DC, 2040 AC, 2040 MV errors
top block unavailable for requested intra4x4 mode -1 at 34 34
error while decoding MB 34 34, bytestream (20130)
concealing 4080 DC, 4080 AC, 4080 MV errors
A:5062.5 V:5063.1 A-V: -0.601 ct: -0.260 5094/5094 71%  4%  1.3% 0 0 0%

Update - I'll just get the hV copy :D  I was going to encode it with x264 anyway to fit it on a DVD9.

On another note, I'm messing around with Star.Wars.Episode.I.The.Phantom.Menace.Bluray.Edition.1080p from WG (yes, I extracted it correctly), and it seems like it only has a runtime of 1:21:00 or so, which cuts it off in the middle of the movie.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I'm specifically referring to BDMV/STREAM/00003.m2ts, which shows like this:

-r-xr-xr-x 1 4294967295 4294967295 39998386176 2009-10-18 21:04 00003.m2ts

Is that the filesize everyone else has?  I do get this issue:

md5sum: asdad/BDMV/STREAM/00003.m2ts: Input/output error

So I think I might be doing something wrong.  Here's how I mounted the ISO:
sudo mount -o loop Phantom.iso asdad/
Mount says this:
/dev/loop0 on /nexus/tardis/hellanzb/done/phantom/asdad type udf (rw)

Hi all.

I`m new to the newsreader aspect of this all, and... I am somewhat confused to some of the Wookiegroomer editions that have audio issues, missing files, ect. I downloaded Empire and 10 of the files were bad. It was such a let down for me. So where can I pick up working nzb files of known good files of the 6 with there proper names so i know what to look for? Im sorry if these are silly questions. I have seen screenshots of Wookiegroomers work and fell in love with the clarity of it all. I`m glad people like him and Ady do what they do. Amazing stuff. Thanks for any help.

Cheers.  The files are bad because some of the posts to usenet were corrupted, which happens all the time.  That's why there are par2 files posted for the releases.  These files are special parity files that allow reconstruction of the broken parts of the files to a certain extent.  QuickPAR allows you to do this on Windows, and the par2 command in linux.

I'm hoping to get WG's BD-50's if possible.  I haven't started on the Prequels yet as I'd like to get this ROTJ working first.  If anyone can suggest a way to fix this I'd appreciate it.

How many files are you missing?  How many parts does QuickPar tell you are missing?  How many parts do you have in the par files (I count 89 if you have all the files, they are labeled at the end with a +9 or +8 indicating how many parts they can replace)?  Can you give an output telling how many parts are missing from each file?

Thanks for the info, HardwareHank.  I'll look into mkvmerge.  I hope it's as simple as offsetting one track with respect to another.  :-)

From here:

mkvmerge -o goodsync.mkv -A source.avi -y 12345:200 outofsync.ogg

This would add 200ms of silence at the beginning of the audio track with the ID 12345 taken from outofsync.ogg.

Some movies start synced correctly but slowly drift out of sync. For these kind of movies you can specify a delay factor that is applied to all timestamps - no data is added or removed. So if you make that factor too big or too small you’ll get bad results. An example is that an episode I transcoded was 0.2 seconds out of sync at the end of the movie which was 77340 frames long. At 29.97fps 0.2 seconds correspond to approx. 6 frames. So I did

mkvmerge -o goodsync.mkv -y 23456:0,77346/77340 outofsync.mkv

That's a lot of gigs to download multiple times.

Tell me about it!  The audio is still slightly out for RTOJ anyway, even with the audio fix.  Maybe WG will make a BD-25 of this at some point with fully corected audio.  We can only hope!

Fixing the audio in the EwokGroomer MKVs is easy using mkvmerge.  The container lets you specify track offsets with very little effort.  There are other tools for working with MKVs that allow this as well.  Of course, mplayer lets you simply adjust the audio offset in real time with the + and - keys, so I don't usually care :).

Thanks for the info.  I'm really hoping to get WG's BD-50 set though.  If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.  I'm guessing the problem I'm having is with that one rar that I mentioned above.  I've now finished downloading ALL of the files a second time and still have the same problem.....  ANH and ESB were fine, just can't get ROTJ to work.

Here's a link to the par2 files nzb.  Download that with a usenet client.  Then, use QuickPAR to fix the rars.  Such is the nature of Usenet - some rars will get corrupted.

Wookie Groomer: Thank you for this beautiful collection.  I believe I have all of your releases in the quality I want: Hope - Jedi BD50, Clones BD25.  I just finished watching Return of the Jedi, and I tried out the alternate audio for Lapti Nek and the Ending song.  The ending song is bearable, with just a bit of the new song on the beginning.  But Lapti Nek needs some work in my opinion.  Are you planning on cleaning that up at any point to make it more like the original?  Is it a timing problem in the film with the new CGI crap?  The version of Lapti Nek in the original film is a bit different - more groovy, as you probably know.  Could we capture it from a laserdisk rip in 5.1 and graft it into your alternate audio?  I'm no expert at Bluray authoring, so I don't know how difficult this would be, but I would definitely volunteer my time and bandwidth to make it happen.

As a side note, I'm able to watch all the Bluray films on my x86_64 Ubuntu Linux box smoothly using mplayer and only free codecs (ffh264 and a52), and I'm able to watch your older releases (VC1) also using only free codecs (ffvc1 and ffwmapro).  It was a pain to set up, but I can send instructions on request to anyone that's interested.  I may do a little blog post about it in the future.

Again, this is constructive criticism.  This is most definitely the best set so far.

Yes, we at HardwareHank.NET Support the petition against the powers that be. We think that the witholding of the films is causing a strong disturbance in the force. I feel as if something terrible has happened. I think George Lucas is just an R2 Unit with a bad motivator, look. I don't know what he's tryin' to push on us, but I'm sure that if I get a translator, I'll be sure it speaks the binary language of moisture vaporators.

Thanks for all the hard work you've done for this holy grail of a cause! Let us know what we can do via the mailing list - I'm now a proud subscriber!
