Help: looking for... 'Playing Beatie Bow' (1986) - Australian Classic Movie
Time

As mentioned in my edit, I contacted Umbrella Entertainment who are the current distributors of the movie. When asked about the possibility of them remastering more classic Australian movies, the said that they’re always looking at bringing more of their catalog to Blu-Ray and that Storm Boy would certainly not be the last movie that they remasting in-house. This is definitely good news but I still implore anyone with materials to come forwards and post.

Help: looking for... 'Playing Beatie Bow' (1986) - Australian Classic Movie

Hi, I made my account just to ask this, but is there any Australian film collector that might have a 16mm or 35mm copy of Playing Beatie Bow? Currently the movie is only available on an extremely poor quality DVD from Umbrella Entertainment that uses a master that I can only assume is a VHS transfer. Considering that they’re remastering Storm Boy there is some hope that maybe they’ll remaster more of the older movies that are currently DVD only, but I won’t get my hopes too high since Storm Boy is only being remastered because of the new movie. Is anyone able to help? I know there will have to be scanning fees, but even if I just see proof that there is a better source for this movie would be more than enough.
Edit: Supposedly Playing Beatie Bow was released in th UK by Apollo Entertainment on VHS under the name of “Time Games”, so maybe theres a UK print out there with that name on it. Also I’ve reached out to Umbrella to see if there’s any chance of a remaster after Storm Boy releases, I’ll update the thread when I hear back from them.
