Who?
Is it? I see! ...I think.
That's okay then.
I'd also like to ask - was Alderaan's explosion made from scratch, or was it imported from somewhere?
Going a bit off track here... but if I recall, it was Episode I what killed Williams Pinball. And that is inexcusable!!
They're all done... the '92 VHS covers!
They do look a bit empty and stupid... and almost certainly need modernizing... but it's a start!
Actually, tell you what, I'll try to handle it on my own.
OK well... here's one of the photos I'm after.
Any idea where I might be able to find a scan?
I can't find any hi-res copies of the publicity stills used on the backs of the UK 1992 VHS covers - can anyone help me find them?
Huh! I had no idea this thread existed! Guess I'll move my box art here, then, since it's BD size.
Keep in mind that it's not entirely complete; I've only been able to find portions of the publicity stills on the back.
I'm getting completely frustrated! I cannot seem to find any of the publicity stills I'm looking for. Specifically the ones on the '92 VHS boxes. Or I did find some of them, but either they're cropped or I have to pay to get credits to download them (I know, I'm a cheapskate!).
Can anyone help?
And here's one I made...
The design resembles the 1992 UK VHS. But I haven't been able to find the publicity stills on the back without them being cropped.
Just leave it; nobody's going to win in this argument!

So, I figured out a way to make my official 2004 and 2006 SW DVDs look way cooler; I took the inside leaflets and simply placed them over the horrible photoshop mess of the original covers:
Ah, mine don't have those! At least not the last time I checked. Oh wait, yes they do - thought they were on the back of the official ones.
They weren't terrible. Just implausible at best and sometimes out of place.
I'll say it: it does seem rather sexist. Especially with the chain around her neck. But she does still kick everybody's butts in it!
(That didn't sound right.)

Did Lucas intend the Jedi to be so stupid in the prequels or is Lucas himself actually as stupid as they are?
Well, he is an ageist jackass who thinks "old" methods of filmmaking (silent, B&W, 2D) are inferior to "modern" ones (sound, colour, 3D), so I doubt he's the sharpest crayon in the box.
I think he was born with a large portion of his brain missing. I think he was too stupid to even come up with the original star wars film (remember, he just wanted to rip off Flash Gordon).
Actually, I - this might sound idiotic of me, but I'd put it down to senility. The fame went to the poor man's head and he tried to dumb down what made it so popular. Either that or he tried too hard to appeal to children....

This. The idea did cross my mind at one point.
How much is this going for again???
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade, I'd have to say. Rogue Squadron II and Trench Run come a close second though.
Famicom Star Wars also deserves honourable mention, if for its campiness.
Because of that execrable song at the beginning and Hayden's ghost and the NOOOO! That's why it's so bad! I can forgive the blinking Ewoks, but everything else is too far!
Let's see, I did consider these....
I thought... "this isn't the way I remember it".
Frankly, of all the alterations, ROTJ has come out the worst, by far! I mean, when the "Jedi Rock" bit came on I was like "MAKE IT STOP!!!!!! MY FACE HURTS!!!!!!!" And all the rest of those new things!
First of all, kudos on this fantastic work; I gave it an A in one of my reviews!
But maybe there's one little thing I want to point out... that digital "humdinger" glitch has gone unchecked - I'll show a picture, see what I'm talking about:
I assume it'll be fixed for the HD version...?
As I see it, this restoration represents a simpler time, back when I'd sit down at my grandparents' house with a pack o' Butterkist and watch the original movie on my VHS tape... although that was the 1981 version, it's probably a little different... but still, it's as enchanting as I remember it! This is the version we've all been waiting for, I think!
