One tiny thing I remember from v1 is that in the added shot of Ochies ship leaving Passana, the pacing between them running to the ship, cutting to kylo, then cutting back to the ship already flying seemed slightly awkward/rushed to me. I was wondering if maybe some of that BTS footage posted a while back could be used to smooth out that part a bit more? I recall there being some really good and longer shots of kylo walking/looking up in there.

I personally still prefer the three shot (with the biomes shot used instead of the RO version). It has more locational clarity and much more ominous and atmospheric pacing to it. But they’re both great, I just slightly prefer the three shots establishment of the environment and the ensuing tension it creates with the build up to the kylo shot.

I honestly prefer the shuttle too, just due to it making more sense to general audience/casual fans and not just hardcore fans. GA people might remember that obi wan said “fighters that size” can’t get that deep into space on their own, so therefore they might still think ANY variety of Tie is a plot hole, whereas those people have SEEN the shuttle use hyperspace. But I digress; in the end it’s an extremely trivial issue either way.

That b roll footage has massive potential. Most of my favorite parts of v1 were the bits that improved the pacing, which in my opinion is the worst of the theatrical cuts many issues. The little bits added with d-0, the crew on the falcon at the end, and the shuffled order of scenes at the beginning, added sooo much to the pace. I think some of the passana and resistance base bits here could be very useful in particular for smoothing out those respective sections.

Edit:
Oh, and this is just a nitpick suggestion, but it’s always irked me that during the big resistance pep talk at the end, it doesn’t cut to rose when they mention that “some of us have lost family” or whatever they say. I always thought that would be a tasteful acknowledgement of paiges sacrifice.

Hey y’all, I’m new here but I’ve been watching the progress of this project for some time and am simply astonished at how good it is. V1 was such a great watch and has become my personal head canon version of this movie; I can’t wait to see v2.

Also, that newest Mustafar edit is fantastic. It’s amazing how much just a little thing like that can add to the overall pace and feel of this entire scene.
