Making our own 35mm preservation--my crazy proposal

I would like to suggest that a Hard Drive with a copy

of the master file, of the DEATH STAR PLANS be delivered to at least 1 other trusted

REBEL

member, that is preferably located far far away from THE REBL BASE

This way if the Empire finds THE REBL BASE and you are forced to destroy ""the

DEATH STAR PLANS "" they will be safe else where.

This is vital to the survival of the rebel alliance.

And by far far away, I would say in France... so as I leave in France, I am volunteer to keep them safe in my home !! ;-)

I posted a rough version of this in a theatrical colouring thread in the preservation forum, but now I'm making this more public:

Woah Zombie84, thanks a lot for your tutorial to watch Star Wars with VLC and the correct colours !! It's incredible !

I installed VLC, launched the DVD and corrected the colours as you said and... MIRACLE !!! The Original Star Wars seems to be in a wonderful Technicolor !!

Thanks again ! :-)

Yes, it's a television recording aired in France in december 1992, taken from my old VHS before it breaks ! I only saved the Opening and closing credits in French...

What was the occasion? channel?  does it have commercials?  I'm into these television airings.  Weird that so late, they would still air a pre-Episode version of the movie.  Thanks for the site and commercials.  Did they ever do a french audio commercial/trailer or were they always these subtitles.  I've seen the same thin lined white fonted subs in the Japanese trailers.  Maybe they never used foreign dubs in the commercials.  Which would seem strange to see the commercial in english then go to the theaters and hear it in french.

It was during Christmas Holidays, on a Channel called France 3 and there was no commercials during the movie.

Regarding the trailers and commercials, they were dubbed in French for the theatres.

Opening from France : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFg6iMK3ikM

Neeto, Big Green LFL logo!  "SOUS-TITRAGE CODE" is a french closed captioning term.  Would that make this a televised recording.  But that slight red fade on the right side seems more of a film conversion issue.
