STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Just to put in my two cents about the entire Hoth shield thing.

From both watching the movies and reading expanded universe materials I've come to the following conclusion.

First off, the Hoth shield is an energy shield, not a particle shield. The movie explicitly states this and EU material tells us that energy shields do NOT shield against physical attacks. Secondly, it is explicitly stated this shield is powerful enough to deflect ALL bombardment. This means that the entire imperial fleet, including the Executor, could fire its entire volley of turbolasers at the shield for months on end with little to no effect. This is why they never did anything except send in ground forces.

Now, while this isn't explicitly stated, if we assume that most every engine in the star wars universe is something akin to an ion engine (which in some EU material most every engine is called an ion engine) and not a chemical rocket, this means that passing through an energy shield would not be possible by any sort of ship, shuttle, or flying vehicle. Since they propell themselves on a very high-yield energy stream I imagine this would cause some sort of disruption in the engine system since suddenly the entire engine's thrust finds itself being redirected by an extremely powerful counterbalancing force. This would most likely cause such an engine, and possibly via chain reaction its primary generator, to explode. This means that you cannot FLY through a shield. Though, it is entirely possible that with some crafty maneuvering (shut down all power and DROP inside, then re-engage engines) you could maybe manage such a feat, doing that during planatery entry would be akin to suicide.

Now, as Vader commanded, a strike force was landed outside of the energy shield. Notice how during the footage of those attacks, none of the empire's vehicles were repulsorlift vehicles? All were types of walkers; Probe droids, while present in some game renditions of the battle of Hoth, were NOT in the movies. The rebels however, obviously well inside the shield, could have repulsorlift speeders and send craft out, since they controlled it and were already inside. Furthermore as seen in the battle of Naboo, laser blasts are not inhibited once inside the shield. It's a thick protective anti-energy layer, but once inside it does you no good. So it's very possible for an AT-AT to get inside then blow the generator to bits when a star destroyer could do nothing from the outside.

That will have to wait until the end of the month when we get paid though. hopefully it won't have to come to that.

To everyone that kindly PM'd me recently then i'm sorry but i haven't had a chance to reply as yet because of everything that is going on here, but i will reply as soon as possible.

Do a repair install, it simply replaces all of the windows related files with the defaults from the install. You get to keep your files, programs, etc. However you will need to re-activate after installation. If you need any help I can walk you through the process.
