Lucas Even Screws Up Jabba's Character

I've noticed a lot of people say that if this were different about TPM or that was different about TPM, it would have been a better film.

When asked how I would have made TPM better, I answer that I would take the Ross Perot approach. In the 1992 presidential debate, when asked how he would improve the IRS and US tax system, he said, "Start over with a clean sheet of paper." That's what the PT needs--to be started all over with a clean sheet of paper, a good science fiction script writer, a proven film director, new actors, and a new vision.

Cool Hand:

Thanks for the kudos. I try hard to think through my arguments as much as I can before posting. I understand many people around here don't and won't agree with me, but my point is, I just want to open the discussion and exchange ideas. I am very opinionated, I know, and I hope everyone is cool with that.

Jimbo, come on! I understand you might think my points suck--that's fine. How about a few reasons why you think they suck, though? Again, the point of a message board is to exchange ideas and make new friends. How about exchanging a few ideas?

SammyTheBull, I'm sorry that my "non-issue" offends you, but the last time I checked, this is a free, open forum. You might think it's a "non-issue," but others might not. Really, who or what am I hurting by posting here? It's not like bandwidth or forum space is limited and I'm eating it up frivolously. If you don't like my posts or my blog, skip over them!

Hi all:

This is an issue I've been wanting to discuss with other true blue SW fans. As you may know by now, I REALLY hate the new Star Wars trilogy. If you're offended by that, I'm sorry. I know that many discussions have been started among fans where one person says, "The new movies suck," and another fan says, "No they don't," and the first one says, "Yes, they do," and back and forth it goes.

What we need is a real discussion on WHY they suck. There's plenty of reasons (thousands, I'm sure), but many of those can be disputed. For example, if you say, "The new movies have crappy storylines," someone else surely will reply back with, "No, I like the stories!" What we need is a discussion of that which is indisputable. For example, the ways in which the new movies create continuity errors or plot holes.

Today I posted my argument on how TPM creates huge plot holes and continuity errors in Jabba the Hutt's character. Forgive me if this sounds like a shameless plug for my website (which, in part, it is), but I've posted my argument on this topic on my site for everyone to view. It's awfully long, so I don't want to repost it here. You can view it at:

Should Star Wars Purists Shut Up?
Time
Hey folks:

I've recently stood up a new website against the new trilogy. Here's the link:

I Hate the New Star Wars

I can't believe the amount of hate mail and hate comments I've received ever since. Most folks say I should just shut up and go away.

Personally I think Star Wars purists shouldn't shut up but should stir the pot as much as possible.

What do you all think?
