Toy Story (1995)– 4K 35mm Scan [WIP– Donations Closed For Now!]
Time

Thanks so much for the update, Tristan!

And a CLEAR message to donors, to please NOT be tempted to leak the release, when it arrives.

Doing so, is a kick in the teeth to the owner of the print, and all involved. Not to go all FACT on you - just asking in 2024, for the community to lead by example, to show trustworthiness and to show some respect. Fuck social media clout. It’s not worth it. If leaks continue, people likely won’t bother offering scan fundraisers anymore.

If there are any additional costs, over time, please feel free to reach out. Myself, and others will likely be more than happy to help. Can’t wait to see the final result! 😃

Hello there!

I was late night researching 35mm scanning, and went down a Disney themed rabbit hole on Internet Archive instead!

I came across Toy Story, and a comparison between 4K and 35mm, and really wished that there was a release that didn’t either butcher the initial presentation of the film (custom Pixar Disney castle - fade into film), nor a foggy filter that many 4K releases seem to have. I then searched and came across this site, and would really like to support the restoration project! 😃

For many years, I’d dream about obtaining idents in abandoned Odeon cinemas, and one day last year, the stars aligned - I managed to find 2 reels of Odeon idents on a well known auction site, and immediately snapped them up. I cried in disbelief and joy. One of my wishes to accomplish before I leave this Earth, is to be able to digitise and watch these reels, along with many other adverts that I’ve collected over the last 10 years.

Take care, and see you on the forums!
