Are other planes of existence acceptable?
Are other planes of existence acceptable?
Luke didn’t know about Jedi funeral traditions at the time of ROTJ; he burned Anakin’s body because he was afraid the Ewoks would eat it otherwise.
I haven’t had the energy to talk about this movie at all lately. But here’s something: does Anakin’s voice say “bring back the balance, as I did”? or something to that effect? because that always struck me as an awful line. He didn’t bring back crap
What are you talking about? Palpatine did die, albeit temporarily. In TLJ Luke specifically says “for many years, there was balance” when talking about the time between episodes 6 and 7.
After Ben dies, Rey gains the ability to channel his spirit, Ace-Attorney-Style.
I really don’t like the “Anthem of Evil” motif in TROS. As a full piece, it’s good, but the melody alone just feels like it’s constantly interrupting itself. Personally, I would either remove its uses from the movie or find a way to add in the album version.
Has anyone tried making an Audio-Only edit? I dunno about anyone else, but I sometimes listen to Star Wars movies with audio description when I’m doing chores and stuff, and it feels like editing that could bridge the gap between rewrites and fanedits. We couldn’t write new dialogue, but we could move it around more easily. And scenes that people have said they wanted to see - like a kiss between Finn and Poe, or Rey showing up to rescue the kids on Canto Bight - could be narrated into existence.
I really think we should move this discussion to the main thread.
I just had a dream that whenever someone used the force, their breath became visible kind of like Danny Phantom. Put that in the movies.
Speaking of “Every time something evil happens:”

iirc, I liked it.
I had actually thought about doing something like that too. If someone could figure out how to match the camera movement so that the Falcon appears to be in one of the shots, I think we could make it work.
Here’s an idea for an edit to the Battle of Exegol that uses some Vehicle Flythroughs footage:
On that topic, if someone does manage to find a good Rey soundalike, would it work to replace “Lightspeed skip” with “Lightspeed ram” to refer to Poe breaking through the ice-wall (for an edit that removes the lightspeeed-skipping sequence)?
Obviously the answer is he constantly shifts back in forth between the two. It’s a Force Ghost glitch.
Wasn’t there concept art for TFA where Ben has a vision of a force ghost that’s constantly switching between Anakin and Vader?
There’s also a shot of the torture chamber where Chewbacca is kept. It might work to have Rey see that when she senses Chewie is still alive.
Edit: speaking of which, does anyone know if “Vehicle Flythroughs” is getting more episodes? Two seems like a weird number to stop at, especially considering the description says it features “Some of the Star Wars films’ most iconic and beloved ships.”
MINOR SPOILER:
As a side note, I think it’s interesting how it re-wrote the moment from the Kaanan comics a few years back when Caleb witness the clones turn on his master. It’s technically not all that different; it’s mostly just the tone and setting that changed, but I’m glad that they’re not being too uptight about canon. I’d much rather have Filoni tell his story rather than have them force him to recreate a moment from a comic down to every little detail. Plus, I really enjoy watching Filoni’s corner of the EU connect like this, while at the same time you can easily watch The Bad Batch without having seen Rebels.
I just with they hadn’t brought back a 45-year-old man to voice a 14-year-old boy.
A great episode overall, though.
“Star Wars: Biomes” is, as the memes say, a blessing from the lord.
There are some interesting shots from the new D+ original contents with a Resurgent Class Star Destroyer maybe we can use them for fanedits of the sequels?
Wait, what D+ original contents?
I like it too, it just reminds me so much of the Imperial March that I feel like it would work better in ROTS or TESB than in a moment that’s meant to be about Luke.
Leave Rey dead at the end of TROS.
I hate this idea but I’m also morbidly curious to know if anyone’s tried it.
Someone else has probably already done this, but I thought I’d give it a try and the timing ended up working fairly well:

Bricks’ Razor?
That’s a good idea, thanks
I mean, if you’ve got clips that work better that you can think of, tell me. I’ve honestly had a lot of trouble finding usable footage.
Come to think of it, Rey has always had absurdly good marksmanship. So it can’t hurt to be consistently absurd.
