reality: everyones got to boycott
Time
Striped down to basic harsh terms, both signing the petition and buying the new releases is a contradiction of aims.
If your buying the dvd your a part of the problem this forum has where nothing will get done to help the cause. And you should'nt hope that the OT will ever be released because nothing nothing nothing elce will make George notice in the only place left that counts, $$$$ figures.
if you've ordered it - cancel it.
if your gona buy it - change your mind to help this petition reach its aims.

ok, it was a crap clutch at straws idea to expect to take off. good thing is lucas is his own enemy, and the more he tampers with it the more people he'll upset who will come looking for the answers and the OT like i did.

this is the line i was thinking along, an intensive sticker campain in an attempt to dent sales a tiny bit, it would only have to be a bit, coupled with a massive boycott to get noticed. the txt could be worked out here so they all read the same, then we hit our home town stores starwars displays. they could say somthing like: George lucas changed these on glue. or WARNING contains scenes of extream modification, and list the problems in tiny print. then stick them on the shops display cutouts they always have. ie in the middle of Darth vaders face.

Moll.
thanks 4 the welcome everyone, im sure this jimbo's not the Hutt hes made out to be.
so a praxis effect comes from an exploding moon in star trek, i can understand the ring explosion he added around Alderan the planet to beef it up coz its so massive. but just shoving them around the death stars i think is lame and looked it. i love the death star 1 explosion.

Hi i'm a new person. i just saw my first OT dvd boots- it was heaven. iv lived with my SE's since they came out with the increasing concern of how am i gona get to see Han not wait for greedo to kill him, total original mos eisly, and the non spoonfeed me ROTJ ending.
iv been a starwars lover since year zero, but i only ever saw it on tv. they were sacred moments, you couldnt pause it or leave the room or barely blink. i took ages to get into dvd and never realised till i thought about buying it that it wouldnt be there. i remember the horible feeling creeping over me.
obviously i miss the cleaned up effects, we should all be allowed OT like that, thats just basic ongoing preservation that happens with all films over time. Biggs and luke was good, and thats it, although i must admit i'm a sucker for that wonderful shot of the falcon rising from mos eisly hanger but it aint important.
i just dont get this guy, he must have films hes sentimental about and wouldnt want changed, so why cant he empathise with our plight?
when i first heard about TPM being made, my first stupid thought was "BRILL! hows he gona make that fit?- its a prequal , so he'll have to revert to old movie making skills, modles and so on so it looks in keeping." (imagin if he really took an insightful sort of aproach like that)
it seems to me budget limitations can do wonders for films because it forces greater creative talent and development into other areas of a film if somthing is not achivable making it a better film overall, giving it longevity like SW had.
i spent months in shock related denial after the wishy washy phantom menace, i kept telling people i thought it was good. it must have helped my heartache. untill one day i gave in and was honest with myself.
did anyone just think they'd had a funny turn in the cinema when they saw greedo shoot first? i really thought it was my mistake. even after i saw all the other changes i never thought about that scene again untill i bought the SE on video.
and does anyone know what his obsesion with ring explosions is? i thought they belonged in star trek. i have a suspision he nicked it, in fact wasnt there one in star trek 6 or somthing?

my 3 fave explosions are:
1. Deathstar 2 reactor core (internal)
2. shield generator
3. OT Deathstar (surreal)

for a while there i thought i was alone. Phew!
