Your on the right track with the changes being done for TPM.
I think the reason the PT ships look so much different is because the Republic was in it’s prime, everything was squeaky-clean like Star Trek

The heart of what made the OT what it is were Ralph McQuarrie’s industrial designs.
Something I’m not seeing any Prequel fanedit talk about are the designs of the PT ships compared to what you see in the OT.
You try typing on a handheld device with the slowest connection.
I can’t wait to see this project completed. I have held off on buying ESB digitally because I know this version will replace it.
