I was joking about the “nostalgia” bit in the post above.
Still, point taken.

You know what I like about you, generalfrevious? You make me look like a chipper optimist.
Got the first real snowfall of the season today.
*sigh*
Assholes like you are what’s wrong with me.
INT. ENTERPRISE/SICKBAY
Piper and Ruan enter the sickbay, Mitchell’s limp form held between them. Already in wait for them is a contingent of nurses.
PIPER: Help us get his armour off.
Moving in, the nurses assist Piper and Ruan with the removal of Mitchell’s body armour. Once that is done, they carry him over to a biobed, laying him down on it. One of the nurses takes up a pair of scissors and cuts open the front of the major’s black bodysuit; pushing it aside, the nasty disruptor wound on Mitchell’s torso is revealed. The nurses quickly administer an anesthetic and disinfect the wound.
NURSE #1: A disruptor blast?
PIPER: (removes his helmet and gauntlets) Yes. Thank God it was only a glancing hit. (to Nurse #4) Hand me the laser scalpel.
NURSE #4: Aren’t we going to use the cellular regenerator, Doctor?
PIPER: (shakes his head) The hemorrhaging is too extensive. We’ll have to go in with a protoplaser if we’re to stop the bleeding.
The nurse hands Piper the laser scalpel. Activating the tool, the doctor begins making the incision.
PIPER: (to Mitchell) As for you, you pig-headed son of a bitch, you’d better not die on me.
NOT COMMERCIALLY VIABLE NIMROD.
If that’s not a commercially viable Nimrod, then what is?
Best from a storytelling POV. That doesn’t make it good; it’s still an abject failure.
From an aesthetic POV, I’d say TPM is the best of the prequels.
Yes, it is a cop-out. I forgive you, anyway.
But … but … nostalgia.
It really bugs me that the only TV station I get that shows TOS on its schedule refuses to ever air “The Cage”.
Oy, how I hate seeing Star Wars associated with the soulless mainstream music industry. Where’s booze when I need some?
Am I the only one who thinks that DVD/Blu-ray releases of movies originally released during the VHS era should carry the exact same ads/trailers/etc. that came with their original VHS release?
I went back to the last two entries and made some alterations. Regarding the former, I replaced the three hunter-seekers with a single hunter-killer (which is a kind of cross between the Robot from Lost in Space and the HK-tank from the Terminator franchise) to add a greater sense of danger to the situation. Regarding the latter, I wasn’t satisfied with how I executed the landing party’s escape from the starbase, so I added more twists and turns to the proceedings.
What’s wrong is right and what’s right is wrong.
Now let’s argue about the pros and cons of moral relativism.
I don’t plan on doing anything special. To me, TFA’s just another movie; I’ll be watching it (if I choose to watch it) without ceremony.
AKA “I’m trying to be edgy by pretending that I don’t care”
Meow.
I think “Homer the Heretic” was the first episode of The Simpsons I ever watched.
Or won’t it?
I guess then that I will stick around, at least for now.
George Lucas just had to fire Gary Kurtz specifically to ruin my life.
I dunno if I’m doing a good job of explaining it. I’m not always good at using words to explain feelings. But back in the day, the force had a certain feeling to it and The Force Unleashed (based on the demo I played) failed to capture that feeling.
The Force in the OT feels more like sorcery/ESP. The Force in the PT (and its derivatives) feels like superpowers.
Maybe I should make an Empire Strikes Back thread. People aren’t in debate about that film.
Well, Anchorhead is something of a '77 purist …
I don’t know if I’m going to be posting on OT.com for very much longer.
I don’t care about TFA, so none of the attention or discussions in “General Star Wars Discussion” about the movie interest me. Without either Bingowings or darth_ender posting here anymore, “Off Topic”'s become a dead, dreary place to be. Even if the “Screen-Writing and Re-writing” section was at all active, I no longer have much drive to continue any of the scripts I’ve been working on. I don’t visit any of the other subforums regularly, so there’s nothing there to hold my interest.
I’m not formally quitting OT.com, but right now, I just don’t feel motivated to stick around.

Those threads all are better than this one because this thread’s title sucks.
Perhaps it would read better if you held it up to a mirror?
