I have noticed that any HDR to SDR conversion I’ve seen have a green tint to them (Any movie).
Here is the screenshots from the non-HDR 1080p blu-ray(included in 4K package).

Unless it’s just me. They still need a slight contrast boost. But not to crazy lol.

I do wonder if that green tone is from the HDR to SDR conversion. These caps from the new HD bluray don’t seem to have the same tones on the stormtroopers.

I find that any HDR conversion screenshots hard to trust.

I was wondering this too, I took the screenshot from a HDR file. But I’m looking at the exact same shot on my HDR TV on Disney+ at the moment and it looks to me the same as what I posted. The Disney+ versions which are basically the same always looked a little warm/green, dark, and desaturated to me, for better or worse.

Yeah, Doctor Who has a killer restoration team.

It's too bad the original Star Trek didn't have as good of a restoration team, either. Although Paramount's idea of "restoration" for the old Star Trek episodes was "make them darker and slap filters on it."

Are you talking about the TOS or the early films? TOS is pristine.

Star Wars Blu Ray Impressions

Pasted from the main Blu-ray topic:

I don't feel like giving LFL the money for these, but to be honest I watched ANH and I'm honestly very happy with what I got. I don't regret it at all. Maybe but it's because I've never seen the HDTV broadcasts before, but the PQ was very sharp to me and the black crush was better than on the DVD. Granted, it looked like they'd just brightened up the picture at times. For example, during the escape from the Death Star one of the TIE Fighter pilot's helmet is completely in shadow, but it's actually a flat grey. Audio quality was outstanding. Overall I was really surprised by how good it looked.

The worst (new) change of the Blu-ray for me actually was the rocks in front of R2, simply because it wasn't consistent at all.

Especially when I put my TV on warm, the colors seemed very accurate to the original film. I hate black crush and blue tint as much as anyone here, but there was no blue tint in what I saw and the black crush was only noticeable in a few scenes. With my TV settings the Death Star actually looked grey-green.

For TESB...I've got my own TV calibrations to completely remove the blue tint on Hoth and shift Vader's saber from magneta towards red.

I'm not sure what anyone's talking about when they saw the matte boxes are gone. They're more obvious than ever.

The deleted scenes are pretty bad. For anyone interested in recompositing it the original opening space matte painting is featured in HD.

The color shift in AOTC also looks pretty good when I have the settings on warm. It looks a lot more like how it did before the DVD, which didn't have the original color timing either.

I bought the set. Yes, shame on me. Two weeks ago I was boycotting it, and I've been one of the most critical people for about a year. But I got it, I guess because it's Star Wars on Blu-ray. :P

After watching the Blu-rays I'm going to watch Harmy's despecialized versions. I honestly think that if Star Wars in 3D fails we'll get the OOT on Blu-ray in the next few years.

"Yes, there will be a new CGI Yoda to replace the animatronic one in Episode I, and yes, there is a small dialogue change in a pivotal scene involving Darth Vader, but at the end of the day, it's still Star Wars, and it's still awesome, right? On Friday of this week, you'll be able to purchase either The Complete Saga or separate Trilogy collections on Blu-ray, and you can rest assured that they come with a ton of extras. There is so much bonus material, in fact, that we don't even know where to begin; click the link above to see its Amazon listing and read through all the extras they're offering with the collection. In short, if you're a Star Wars fan (and really, who isn't, right?), you need to pick this up, and that's all we're going to say about that."
