Do you want me to pm you his email?
I would love that!

Yeah. Harmy has been an enormous influence in my own pursuits to become a film archivist. Thank you, Harmy!
This!
Absolutely. Harmy really led the way. I probably own every official release of the “theatrical” version, and I tried watching the GOUT, and couldn’t make it more than 20 minutes. Harmy’s, or 4k77, is way too good. Hopefully they never Order 66 them. Lol
Seems like a fine place to post this. Harmy doesn’t post here too frequently these days, but if a bunch of people chime in with their own thank-yous, it’ll be a nice thread for him to return to. And frankly he could use a little more thanks and a little less “Could you adjust Han’s skin tone in this one scene?” if we’re going to convince him to keep doing more of this work 😉
Now on to important questions. Is Dr. Vader a medical doctor, or does he have a doctorate degree? Or is it more of an honorary title like with Dr. J? Or is it more like Dr. Pepper?
Haha I have a PhD in astrophysics focusing on The Force energy in the universe. I agree with you about thanking Harmy. He really opened Pandora’s box with these subsequent theatrical releases, and gave us amazing content. Honestly, he could never work on another Despecialized, and I would never get sick of the ones that are available. They are the best current theatrical releases in my opinion. 4k77 and 4k83 are absolutely amazing, but we still don’t have 4kESB (I don’t think there is one). Even if there is a 4kESB, what he did was amazing and gave a lot of people the greatest Star Wars content we could ask for. He did everything for the fans, and didn’t do it to benefit himself.
The Silver Screen Edition has been superceded by 4K77. Try The Star Wars Trilogy forums for more information.
Good point. I now have both. Love the 4k77 and 4k83 versions. I need ESB4k now!
I’m sure there are similar threads about this, but I felt I should start my own. First off, I have been trying to find Harmy’s email for awhile, but have had no luck. I just wanted to say thank you to him. His contribution to preserving film history has meant a lot to all of us. I have always hated being forced to watch either the GOUT or the VHS versions, since they are not HD and do not hold up to today’s standards. I have all of his versions (and the vhs, GOUT, Silverscreen, 4k77, and 4k83), and they are, in my opinion, the best versions. Harmy brought me the best experience of Star Wars, and he worked extremely hard to bring us the versions of the films that we all fell in love with. Having said that, I don’t hate the special editions. I just dislike the attempt to bury the originals in time. Thanks again, Harmy!
The VHS set I have is the 1992 Fox Video set.
This is the one I’d recommend. It looks and sounds the best. You can usually find them for $8-$10, or maybe cheaper at a pawn/thrift store.
I have all of the theatrical version vhs tapes (both cbs fox sets, and the last official set), and I recommend the set from the nineties (theatrical). I got it for 8 bucks. I probably paid thirty dollars for all nine of my theatrical vhs tapes. I also have Harmy’s and the official versions with the GOUT, too. Again, I’d recommend getting the THX theatrical versions. They’re cheap and look great. I believe the RotJ has Yoda on the cover.
Hello, Everyone!
I have currently been doing some research on true theatrical releases. I am unable to find anything about the Silver Screen edition or how to watch it. Would anyone be able to help me?
Awesome. Thank you!
Try this one if you are looking to burn the discs. Has all the great bonus features and documentaries.
Thank you very much. Sorry, I am pretty new to this forum. I appreciate the help.
Hi and welcome Dr. Vader,
Around 6/7 threads below this one in the Star Wars Preservation section… there are a number of threads on Harmy’s Despecialized Editions - which’ll hopefully help you find the info you are looking for.
There is also an Index thread pinned at the top of this section of the site - with a few links to various threads on the Despecialized Editions.
The Help section, linked at the top of the site, may also be of interest - as well as the General Assistance section of the site.
Good luck with it.
