Idea & Info: a Daria Soundtrack Preservation?
Time

Just for shits and giggles, I took a stab at doing my own restoration work. It wasn't actually hard. Starting from nothing, I was able to figure out audacity and splice in the original audio by removing the background music (using noise remover) and splicing in the original music taken from the original song mp3s. I synced up a track of an unexpurgated version with the dvd version for timing cues.

I don't think this turned out too bad, but I also think this isn't as good as it could be. my source for the dvd version was xvid dvd rips, and mp3s for the original songs. Plus, some incidental music was not inserted back in because of too much dialogue over the music (particularly in the second half).

I think that this could be done pretty easily if a few other people would be willing to collaborate. A large amount of the work would simply be gathering the original music in lossless quality, and writing out the timing cues from original unexpurgated versions. Is anyone here interested?
