So, unlike the PDE this is not an ISO image, so anyone knows what to do with these on a Mac??

I use Windows and did a search for how to burn a AVCHD to a DVD using Nero. This worked for me just fine. Maybe you can do a search for how to burn to DL DVD on a Mac.

Do Mac's even use Nero?

No, there's no Nero for Mac. I did of course search before asking, but the only thing I found is a program called Toast, but it costs 80 bucks and considering I don't even have a Blu-Ray burner and that I would most likely only use it this time, plus two other times when SW and Jedi come out, it seems like a lot of money for something I wouldn't use.

The problem is not so much the burning, that's easy and I've done it before, the problem is turning the BDMV folder into an ISO image. There's a great program that turns VIDEO_TS folders into ISO and I was hoping there would be something similar, but again, the only option I've found for this is Toast.

the reasons why episodes 7 8 and 9 will/should be made
Time

You know, I think Star Wars and Empire are awesome, great movies, you know, the usual rant...

Then Jedi is still good, I love it but I'm biased because it was the first movie I ever saw, but there's a significant drop in quality compared to SW and Empire. It's tolerable and the movie still has a lot of redeemable moments.

Then we had The Phantom Menace, another big drop in quality, this time is not so tolearable, at least it still looks like a film for the most part, and Liam Neeson did a good job and in short it was not the clusterfuck that the other prequels were.

Which brings us to Clones and Sith, incredibly, from my point of view, there was another huge drop in quality when compared to TPM. I'm not sure which is worse, maybe Clones, because I feel nothing in it makes any sense, but Sith is pretty much the same shit with a slightly cooler ending and whole lot of ridiculous moments. So I guess one could say the quality remained the same with those two.

Anyway, my point is that every SW movie, with the exception of Empire has been worse, and many times a whole lot worse, than the last, so for that reason I don't think there should be another trilogy, by the time we get to Episode IX we'll be on Ed Wood territory.

3 ways Marcia Lucas (then wife of George Lucas) saved Star Wars
Time

Yet, this is the general view in a given SW forum:

I have been led to believe, that Lucas won't release the original theatrical versions, because if he does, he will be forced to pay his ex wife Marcia royalties, as she was involved in the editing process, on all three OT films.

She took half of his wealth when they divorced in 1983 (but left Amanda behind? What a great Mom!) Marcia crippled Lucasfilm and left Lucas broke. He had to build his Empire back up. If that hadn't occurred, we would have gotten the first Star Wars prequel in 1989 (which was the original plan) and we may have even gotten a third trilogy (my speculation here) starting in 1999.

This is partly why he changed the OT movies for their 20th anniversary; change them just enough and they aren't totally the same movie any more and he wouldn't be under any legal obligation, to feed her any more dollars. He got away with releasing the original cuts on DVD, as they are 'bonus features' If my missus left me and our daughter, for an artist who worked for me and took half of my Empire; I wouldn't [censored] on her, if she were on fire, let alone pay her royalties for a film series, that isn't even hers to begin with.

PT vs OT Scientific Study
Time

Meh... in a universe that has Jar-Jar, Boss Nass, the two headed pod race announcer and, if you count the Clone Wars, a german evil mad scientist, Grievous is almost cool.

Like pretty much everything else in the prequels, he doesn't make any sense. There's no way anyone could beat him in a fight when he's spinning four lightsabers super fast like some blender. Also he looks more advanced than Vader and much more agile.

And like a lot of other things in the prequels, he's only there so we can have yet another lightsaber fight, cause you know, having three fights in a movie is not enough, you need four or it gets boring.

I think Leia is da bomb with a red lightsaber :p

Is that a tyrannosaurus behind Han and Leia?

Yeah, can someone please explain what's happening here?

They are in Jurassic Park while a Terminator has come from the future to kill Leia because she's gone to the dark side. Also Han bought another jacket because the empire took his old one on Cloud City and he never got it back, Vader probably kept it for himself.

"I am wondering.....why are you here?"
Time

I found this place one day when I was looking for some homemade version of the ESB score that had the Main Title edited with the film version of the Imperial Probe Droid. I tried to do it myself but I really suck at editing. Anyway I think I found it on tehparadox and that somehow got me here.

I've never really cared about about fan edits but I was very happy to find stuff like Adywan's wonderful ESB 97 SE AVCHD with Boba's original voice, his superb theatrical reconstruction and now also Harmy's work. So I started checking this site often and eventually started to post. I don't really post much here or elsewhere though (the only other place where I post is a Beatles forum). But this is quite a nice forum, especially compared to the horror of other SW sites.

Well, as you will later see in his abysmal dealings with Jabba the Hutt, Luke has some kind of inferiority complex that forces him to kill as many people as humanly possible. I mean, sure, some Imperial forces might die if the AT-AT tips over due to a damaged leg, but if you really want to rack up a good kill count, blowing up the cockpit with an explosive is the safer way to go!

Speaking of which, what the hell was Luke's plan for rescuing Han? As much as I love ROTJ, I've never been able to make any sense of the plan.

How many of you watch the Clone Wars series regularly and what do you think of it?
Time

The music is one part of the show that actually has been improving. It started terrible in the movie with the techno and ethnic music, but lately it has gotten a more SW and Williams feel.

On the Mortis arc, the main theme of those episodes seemed to be a variation on the Force theme, the Force theme was heard a couple of times and even Qui-Gon's theme from TPM (yes he has a theme) made an appearance, it was nice they brought it back even if it's a rather obscure theme.

Time

I've watched most of it, and find it to be very inconsistent, with some terrible crap like the virus episode and some pretty good episodes that are better than anything in Episodes 2 & 3.

Sometimes I get the feeling they're not sure who their target audience is (a problem you could say is also present on the prequels). It seems the show started as an excuse to sell more toys and to gain a tween audience, so we got Ashoka Tano, the cool, teenage girl student who calls Anakin skyguy and sounds and dresses like Hannah Montana or whatever kids like these days. That was toned down quickly, I don't think she ever said skyguy ever again and even now she's dressed differently and has become almost a likeable characther.

So we've got some dumb Jar Jar episodes, the ridiculous virus episode. Then we've got what could be considered some pretty dark episodes for children and also what would be some incredibly boring episodes for children so I'm guessing they're not the target anymore. It seems lately the show is on a "fanwank" overdrive so their target must be SW fanboys who want to see Jabba, Darth Maul, Chewbacca, Tarkin, Qui-Gon, the Carbon Freezing Chamber, Detention Block AA23, Sy Snootles, Greedo, etc...

If I liked the prequels, continuity would be an issue though. The whole show seems to me to big to go completely unmentioned on ROTS. The last arc they pretty much met the Dark and Light sides of the force in person, which I would think might come up in a conversation, you know, if you're deciding to turn to the dark side like Anakin did. And of course the fact that Ashoka is never mentioned again, which regardless of the way they chose to eliminate her, makes no sense.

Tarkin in the clone wars.
Time

The episode was the ultimate fanwank, not only does the carbon freezing chamber looks and sounds exactly like the one in ESB (and is also run by Ughnaughts, who now seem to have a monopoly on carbon freeze), but the jail looks like the Detention block of Star Wars, security cameras and all.

And of course they used the shuttle disguised as a transport for cargo to land on the planet. They should have made one Battle droid say "fly casual" in case someone missed the reference.

Lando: Oh. When was that?
Vader: Back when I owned R2-D2 and Chewie and I used to hang.
Vader (to Chewie): What is up, my man?
Chewie: Rawagagraarar.
"Also, I've had to stop this bounty hunter here from killing me multiple times. And I built that protocol droid."

And that's just now, wait til we meet young Han Solo, young Lando, Lobot before he was a cyborg and Willrow Hood making ice creams for Clone Troopers next season of Clone Wars.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

I think, most likely, a better question is what will be changed this time? Will Stormtroopers have different colors like the clones in the prequels? Will Alec Guinness turn into Ewan McGregor at the end of Jedi? Will every Imperial die of natural causes so our heroes don't look like cold-blooded murderers?

It's early for me to vote, since there's little info, in the extremely unlikely case that we get a new transfer and the colors are fixed I may be tempted to buy the OT even in the horrible SE version. Or perhaps the bonus stuff will be too tempting to resist, but we don't know yet.

99% chance I won't buy any of the sets though.
