What the hell is happening here???

Not sure, but I'm thinking up several captions to go with that pic. :P

I am thinking that this has something to do with "Droids". I believe there's an "Easter Egg" containing some of that cartoon series as well as some of the Holiday Special (thus the horrible artwork of Fett on the dragon).

Seriously, who the F did this artwork? Why not just include children's crayon drawings.

That pic was painted by Roy Grinnell, who is the official artist of The American Fighter Aces Association and The Commemorative Air Force/American Combat Airman Hall Of Fame. This, along with the Fett riding a lizard and Han and Ewoks painting (different artists, respectively), are prints featured in the book STAR WARS-VISIONS. They are nice enough works on their own, but headscratchingly odd to include when there are more iconic pieces to choose from( Mcquarrie, Struzan, Hildebrandt, etc.)

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Wow, what a great publicity shot that is. It looks like back in '77, Lucas was undecided who Leia should end up with...Luke, Han or Chewie!

Adywan, just to show you how much of an impact Re-visited has made....I recently watched your "purist" edition, and the Re-visited tweaks missing from that version
( New Death Star reveal, duel music, extended TIE attack) stuck out like a sore thumb, even though the content is much closer to the original theatrical version!

I can say with no hesitation that "Re-visited" has trumped, shamed and replaced Lucasfilm's official "Special Afflicition" in the heart and mind of this original member of the '77 club. Many thanks, again.

I'm loving those menus, Adywan.

That menu shot of Tarkin "watching" a scene from the film on the DS display( now THAT'S a big screen!) is perfectly indicative of your whole project; loaded with cleverness and caring attention to detail that somehow went right over the heads of Lucasfilm proper.

Counting down the days until DVD spendor.............

Once again, I'll do what I can to PIF in the US to as many as possible. I've already got about 5 people at my workplace alone who have seen the Xvid and are salivating for DVD copies.

Also, I'm saddened to see this once friendly and positive thread( and the wonderful work by Adywan that inspired it) poisoned by rudeness, nitpickery and rancor. Adywan's SE is the only SE of A New Hope I will ever watch again, regardless of whether some CGI flipper or blink-and-you'll-miss-it DS surface shot doesnt hold up under intense, freeze-framed scrutiny.

Whatever "weaknesses" are present in Adywan's edition are far less glaring and distracting to me than that travesty that passes for an official SE. Thanks for a terrific creation, Ady. Your efforts are extremely appreciated.

I just finished watching this thing and I have one MAJOR complaint, Adywan......

In the closing credits, you spelled the City By The Bay as SAN FRAN"S"ISCO.....how dare you?

Other than that............sheer genius!!!!!!!

As amazing as the big enhancements ( saber fight, escape from DS, DS battle) are, I think my favorite touch was the shot of the escape pod falling to Tatooine..... the twin suns in space, and the little entry burn around the escape pod.... such careful (and caring) attention to detail that should make Lucas and ILM hang their heads in shame.

Absolutely wonderful. And thanks for the mention in the credits. That was quite a treat.

Oh.My.Sweet.Lord.

Between these two most recent clips, and the previous clip of the Falcon's escape from Mos Eisley, I think I've died and gone to Star Wars heaven.

What a Christmas stocking goodie! Thanks, Adywan. I cannot wait to see the finished product( and will be very willing to burn DVD-5s and 9s until the cows come home for whoever wants them).

The Star Wars Archives, a different kind of preservation

My God, I think this might just be the greatest thing ever!

I haven't seen that Donny and Marie and Richard Pryor footage since 1977! What a trip! And the 1981 shots of the cast of the Radio Drama all gathered around the mic are a joy(I still say Perry King was the only one who could have given Harrison Ford a run for his money....)

Darth Neo, you are my hero!

(Did I use enough exclamation points)?.....................!

Wow. That's all I can say, just wow.

There is SO much to love here. The blaster hits, the brilliant lasers, the amplified ships and battles, the Alderaan asteroid field, the in-cockpit look at the hyperspace wormhole, Chewie's medal, blinking Greedo.....

Adywan, it looks like you have given the fans something that Lucas and his million dollar minions were unable to(or unwilling to).
Bravo. I cannot wait until this is available.

Oh my sweet Jesus...

I've been a lurker here for a while, and just got a look at Adywan's side -by-side comparison video of the work he's doing on this project.

Whatever it takes, sir, you MUST complete this project. The work is absolutely wonderful, and the little tweaks(Yavin added, the increased amount of fighters, the green laser cannon glow)brought a smile of glee to the face of this old 1977 Wars-dog. Just the shots of Luke's X-wing lifting off and flying towards camera, and the reverse-perspective shot of the laser turret firing at the passing X-wing fighter did something for me that Lucas and Co. have failed to do for years: it made me excited about Star Wars again.

I'll be donating whatever I can to Adywan to help with his work, in the hopes that one day all of us can share in what looks to be an incredible effort.

Bravo.
