Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Did I get that right... no "Empire of Dreams" Documentary??

If this is the case, I am considering cancelling my pre-order for the first time...

I was prepared to only get SE versions, but I at least expected everything from all the DVDs plus more... definitely a prequel doc and "From SW to Jedi".

What's wrong with those people... i'm okay with them wanting my money, but they could at least give me something in return, especially things ALREADY PRODUCED!!

Your first reaction to Hayden is ROTJ

While I am not a fan of this change and agree that HC lookin down is no improvement, I have to say that the original scene isn' t the bee's knees either. But to me it's a change that I can live with, there is a certain logic to it (from a certain point of view), and it does not interrupt the flow, unlike the Jabba scene in ANH or Jedi Rocks.

In my opinion, about 98 per cent of the choices for the SEs are okay and perfectly agreeable, it's the last 2 per cent that stick out like a sore thumb and spoil the experience.

It's weird... the Lucas of the original trilogy seems to be such a cool guy.. devoted, passioante, with a good eye for story telling and the wisdom to work together with others... let them contribute...

It makes you wonder what happened... All the movies were commercial films that had to make money, but still there is so much soul especially in the first two ones. When I watch the PT Lucas, he doesn't seem like someone who does the movies to make money... They should be successful, but there seems to be a lot of heart in them as well, just that it never comes out on screen. Also with the SEs - I don't think "Jedi rocks" was his attempt to spoil the fun, I think he really wanted to put something cool up there, something to give to his fans. That is probably why he cannot handle criticism that much when it comes to those changes.

The first trilogy is probably the most successful piece if art of the last century, judging from the way these caharcters have embedded themselves in the public consciousness. The only one in the last century up to this is porbably Tolkien. It's miraculous how someone can lose talents and instincts that were so great...

Time

Hello Harmy,

I haven't come round to actually watch the movies yet, but I burned them to disc and they play just beautifully in my bluray player, so the technically side is top notch, amazing quality. As for editing decisions, I hopefully will soon have time to watch them and will post my impression here. Thanks so much!

Hiya,

certain posts from the not-too-distant past inspired me to join this forum and give a donation to Adywan.

I have been following this thread on a on- and off basis for some time now, I enjoyed the ANH-R DVD very much and am so glad to have this version.. as probably everyone here is. You make a whole bunch of nerds very happy, thanks!
