That deletion of Lak Sivrak (and the other wolfman) really irked me when watching the SE. I had always liked seeing those creatures in the film and then Lucas puts in some crappy CGI elephant in his place.

As much as I (and many others) would like them put out on DVD, I doubt Lucas cares to do this to his "vision". I'd say only if someone else had the rights to SW then there'd be a chance of releasing them.

Still haven't bought em or rented em and I don't plan to. My VHS copies still work fine, but eventually I may need to get some sort of DVD version.

My personal opinion is that a costumed actor or puppet is far more convincing as a character. There's a greater feeling of realism when something is actually present in a scene as opposed to being placed in at a later time. I know CGI has it's uses, but to me it just doesn't give as much realism to a character or a location as much as something within the physical realm would. But that's just how I feel.

Return of the Jedi is my favorite of the Star Wars movies. It just appeals to me and has the things I look for in a movie; action, humor, drama. I don't care what's said about the Ewoks, but they are a much better creation than the Gungans IMHO. This is definitely one of my favorite movies out there.

I'm not going to be buying this set, but would like to see what's on the supplemental disc. I would really rather invest my money in a bootleg version of the "Original" trilogy, but I'm not sure where I'd find a good one. I'll probably just buy the VHS version for now instead of this "offering".

I'd say this kind of change sucks. Just Lucas' attempt to connect the trilogies by altering the older ones to fit with the new ones, then gives this half-baked explanation for it. I don't buy it and I really don't like the alteration.
