Hey Acbagel,

I figured we would hear again from you soon than later. Glad to hear you are working on projects you are passionate about. I’d like to check the Supernatural Encounters work project out as well someday. I am still very much looking forward to Book 5 and 6 when you finally have the time and creative drive to finish this project out strong. Please take your time and we will continue to watch your career with great interest. Have a nice weekend and may the force be with you!

Are you still going to film new shots for the Battle of Endor at Redwood National and State Parks, or were those plans scrapped?

Yeah, that definitly seemed the most ambitious part of the project. However, if Ady is able to be pulled off it will be epic!

Hello There! Your edit might be our only chance to see Boba Fett with Din for awhile if you take Temuera Morrison recent comments about the character’s future status at face value. However, he could be remaining coy about his involvement in the upcoming film. Either way, interested to see how you incorporate the character into season three. Any update on Book 5 and/or Book 6? Well I hope you enjoy your (Labor Day) weekend; may the force be with you!

It doesn’t take all that long to level up and I find the conversations happen in fits and spurts but the community is solid and supportive. There are multiple channels to participate in depending on what interests you.

I guess I am just unfamilar with discord, but when I go on there I only see “verifying rules” and “hello-there” on the movie remastered discord. One is just a list of rules and the other just shows people joining and leaving the group. Do I need to join other groups in discord to level up or can I do it within the movie remastered discord because I do not see any actual conversations happening on there. Maybe I just am a noob and don’t know what is going on!

I don’t really use discord, but joined the group and I do have an active Disney Plus account. What do I need to do beyond that to watch this edit? I see I have to be a certain level to watch the edits, but don’t really see any active discussions taking place I guess to rank up. Feels a bit odd to just start a convo in a vacuum without having seen the fanedit to give feedback. Thanks and may the force be with you!

Looks like the Mouse House is actually going with The Mandalorian and Grogu as the title of the spinoff film. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have just gone with The Mandalorians (plural). The casual fan still calls him “baby Yoda” or the litte green guy anyways. I don’t think Grogu has much name recognition for the general public.

However, I digress. I was just checking in to see how the edit was coming along. Is Book Five locked in yet? Take your time, just one of my favorite edits currently being worked on so I’m excited to see the progress. Have a nice weekend!

Hey Jar Jar and DZ, love all the ideas listed above. Anything to make the ST seem more cohesive and actually somewhat planned out. AI voice technology is getting so much better daily it really seems like the sky could be the limit. That new tech too where you can drive video to video character sequences leaves a lot of potential to eventually add or alter lines on screen instead of having the AI audio having to be voice overs or occur off screen to make it convincing. Look forward to seeing what Nev cooks up for V2 of this edit!

Hey Acbagel, thanks for the update. I was not too fond of the Plazir-15 storyline so not shedding much tears if that is cut down a bit (probably the lowest point of the series). I figured Book Five’s update was held up due to you still editing Book 6. Take your time, but I am surely excited to see the final product.

Do you still intend a seperate book for Dr. Perishing’s arc? Also, very cool you and Movies Remastered have collaborated on some Acolyte stuff. I have been following that edit with great interest too. I understand your desire to take on other SW series you are more passionate about first. That first season (maybe only season) was rought, but there is some diamonds in the rough. Wish we had of just focused on “The Stranger” honestly. Anyways, I appreciate all your hard work. May the force be with you and have a nice weekend!

Hey Acbagel, just checking in to see how things are progressing. I know last time you posted that Book 6 was in an almost pre-alpha phase. Have you been able to problem solve some of the issues you were running into with the sequence of events, etc. Has a revised Book 5 been locked in or are things still shifting due to you tinkering with Book 6? Don’t mind viewing clips if you need an extra set of eyes/ feedback. Eagerly looking forward to this cut. Also, do you think you would even attempt an edit of The Acolyte? I wish you the best and may the force be with you!

I wonder if it would be possible to change the main focus from the twins to Sol. Start the film with Sols perspective of the events on Brendock and have the twins mainly as the secondary plot…

Honestly at this point, shifting the focus to Sol and “The Stranger” I feel is one of the only ways to salvage this series. However, I look forward to seeing what MR has cooking!

That end was something and not in a good way in my opinion. The writing and acting for the most part teetered from subpar to just plain bad. I will try to be as spoiler free as possible, but the resolution as to who they sold to the public of the ultimate killer of Torbin, Indara and Kelnaca made absolutely zero sense. The “killer” was seen by countless people on in the Jedi temple at the same time of Indara’s death, not to mention the bar patrons that saw the attack and Mae was touted as the true killer with Osha arrested for her crime.

Also, I guess Vernestra has complete autonomy to do whatever she wants free of any interference whatsoever by the Jedi Council. The “twins” must truly be one person with multi personalities as that is the only explanation in my opinion for their constant 180 turnarounds in motives and values from one episode to the next. I will truly be impressed if you can salvage this series. The Sith cameo and some of the lightsaber fights were cool, but it was all spectacle and little substance that made little to no sense in regards to what we know from the larger canon predating it (in terms of release; not timeline).

I’d take more from episode seven than episode three. The child actors are not very good in my opinion. The dialogue throughout that episode was pretty cringe. I was hoping “The Stranger” was going to be in the flashback in episode seven pitting the Jedi and Witches against each other in the shadows, but instead we go really little information we did not already know. The reveal of what actually happen that night fell really flat for me; especially this late into the season.

This show needs a lot of work so I wish you the best with editing. After last night’s episode, I would probably recommend merging part of episode three and seven together for context in the “current” timeline of the show instead of skipping them all together. Please cut the child acting down to a minimum though if possible, as I thought episode three has been the weakest so far overall. Interested to see how it all turns out; may the force be with you!

Hey Acbagel, I am looking forward to the revised Book 5 and the eventual release of Book 6. Also, I would not mind a standalone book of Dr. Perishing’s arc if that is in the cards.

As for cutting Moff Gideon’s clone plot from the final, I would be down for that. However, I am cautious of this approach as this plot point could play into the announced Mandalorian movie. I believe Giancarlo Esposito even playfully eluded to this possibility in a fairly recent interview when asked if he could return. Just something to think about, but you could always alter down the road if it does indeed influence the upcoming 2026 film. I can’t wait to see what you have been cooking. Take care for now and may the force be with you!

I will be looking forward to watching an updated Book 5 whenever it reaches completion. I too was disappointed with Tales of the Empire after really enjoying Tales of the Jedi. I honestly liked the Morgan Elsbeth arc more than the Bariss arc which was surprising. The final two episodes were a real letdown. However, I understand not wanting to bog down this thread discussing another show. That said, I guess we will find out about The Acolyte later tonight. I do not have the highest hopes, but fingers crossed I am pleasantly surprised.

Hey Acbagel, how are you enjoyed bad batch? Have you done anymore tinkering with the final book yet or taking a needed pause to recharge? By all mean take your time, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I can’t wait for the final book this series (at least for now)!

Hey Darth! I did have a little bit of a break, took the family on vacation, had a huge event at work, and then have been working on two editing side projects as well (one relates to The Way of Mandalore and I’ll announce below). I also did indeed watch all of Season 2 and Season 3 of The Bad Batch + Tales of the Empire over the last three weeks, so that was a lot of spare time consumed but I like to stay relatively up to date with ongoing Star Wars stories. To be honest, I thought The Bad Batch peaked in Season 2 Episodes 7/8, the senate ones about the clone conspiracies. End of Season 2 was great as well, but I thought Season 3 went absolutely nowhere and didn’t wrap up any of the plots I was most interested in (Project Necromancer, the developments in the senate, the Clone Rebellions, Rex/Cody/Wolffe etc). So I was quite let down by the conclusion and ended up feeling like the whole series is a little bit pointless. I didn’t connect with the Batch or Omega at all, so I know they got a good story together but I thought they were by far the least interesting part of the series. Oh well, still might try to complete a movie edit one day…

So Book 6 update, I have spent a few hours going through Act 3 which is the battle on Mandalore. It’s not good, there was a lot of criticism about the nonsense structure of the base, starfighters completely disappearing, and very poor pacing, but some of the scenes are well made too (jet pack battle comes to mind). It’s been a lot to sift through looking for solutions. The first 2 hours of the movie are pretty much ready for a final polish check, but that last hour of the film is still a doozy to work out. I could release Book 5 updated right now, but I am somewhat worried I am going to have some idea in Book 6 that makes me need some scene from Book 5 or at least make me need to change a line or two so I’ve just been sitting on it… I might just drop it though as I’m still at least a month+ away from Book 6.

I could not agree more regarding your assessment of the Bad Batch series. It basically is the anti Mandalorian. It intially presented a larger scope beyond clone force 99 with exploration of Project Necromancer, the developments in the senate, the Clone Rebellions, Rex/Cody/Wolffe, etc. and then opted for a more narrow, intimate final season. I cannot help, but wonder if things changed behind the scenes between season two and three much like we speculate things changed between season two and three of mandalorian to warrant this pivot. I thought at least they were setting up Ventress to guide the escaped children through “the path” established in Kenobi and pair her back up with Vos. I guess time will tell.

I know I would like to personally see a “completed” book five while you tinker with book six if you don’t mind. I think we all understand it may not be the final “product”. However, release things when you are ready and let us know if you need any suggestions in terms of structure or what not for book six. Anyways enjoy the rest of your weekend and may the force be with you!

PS: What did you think of Tales of the Jedi/ Empire?
