That being said, I think the best thing to do is throw some ideas out there and see what people think.  Normally throwing out ideas will get more feedback because more people will read brief ideas that a finished script, and people are probably more up for chatting about an idea than ripping apart a script you spent a lot of time on, so yeah, share some ideas and I'm sure people will join in.

True.

The only problem, though, is that some of the cool ideas tend to come up in other people's work... which can be quite depressing for the person who came up with them first.

But since this isn't that big of a community and everyone's basically striving for the same thing (an awesome, new take on the prequel trilogy) and enjoys sharing ideas, I think it's safe enough to post at least those ideas that you're not that sure about.

My only question is - what is your ultimate goal: a book, a comic-book, graphic novel... cartoon? What's the final format you're aiming for?

Thanks for the replies guys. My ultimate goal is just to have my sprawling ideas become clarified into words. Not an entire script or a book, rather a plot outline for the three films.

I'll take the advice and throw out some ideas of mine now:

The clone wars. From the start of Episode I, the clone wars should already be in progress. The clones themselves are very skilled, loyal and ruthless warriors, making them very valuable. Any leader would love to have these guys on their side, and the Emperor knows this. He then supplies them to different planets and leaderships. This sparks wars throughout the galaxy, making leaders think they have an exclusive power that can be used to take over other worlds. The audience shouldn't know it's the Emperor supplying the clones until Episode II.

Anakin Skywalker and his family. Anakin is a young (21-23 years of age) fighter pilot in training on Tatooine. His parents died when he was just a baby, and it's never explained who they were and how they died. He was then orphaned and adopted by the Lars family. When we meet Anakin's family, it only consists of an old and very ill step father, an already dead step mother, a hard working step brother (Owen) who is now taking care of the farm and Owens fiance Beru.

Obi-Wan Kenobi. A Jedi Knight who is fighting in the clone wars. He is older than Anakin by 5 or so years. He occasionally receives teachings and guidance from his old mentor Yoda. By the end of Episode I, Kenobi will be crowned a General thanks to his actions in the story of Episode I.

These are just some of the ideas I have in mind. I would very much like to hear your opinions on them. After taking in your own ideas and constructive critiques, I'll post some more ideas.

Hello there. I've been reading some great ideas and concepts some users here have created and it seems to have sparked a creative flame in me. I am now quite interested in writing my own stuff. The school holidays have just started for me and I've got a lot of free time on my hands.

I've been a fan of star wars since I was, well, born. My dad is a huge nut about it and of course showed me the films. As I grew older I formed my own relationship with them. My order of most liked to least liked is as follows:

1. Empire Strikes Back

2. A New Hope

3. Revenge Of The Sith

4. Return Of The Jedi

5. The Phantom Menace

6. The Attack Of The Clones

Anyway, I've already got a good idea on how I want to handle the first three episodes. I just need to get the details right. I was also thinking about doing the entire saga because ROTJ had potential but didn't fulfill it. However IV and V were near perfect so I remain undecided.

I'll get around to posting a basic plot outline for Episode I when I can, it may take a day or so until I'm satisfied enough with it to post.
