I haven't even looked at BS 2 and they've already anounced the next one [Bishock Infinite]. Might wait and get it cheap. I got orange box cheap so I'll keep my eyes open for any other bargains around.

Right now i'm just replaying and finishing off other games while I wait for Reach.

I might try to finish wet but it's just so....so....horrible. In all honesty I only got it [cheap]for the lols. And in that regard it's been fun. It's just a shame that the gameplay sucks so badly.

I've also [sadly] lost interest in Batman: AA, The last thing I remember is a bunch of vines sprung up all over one of the courtyards. I should probably try to get back into it.

Did anyone else get in on the Reach Beta? lots of fun but it's spoilt me now, I go back to Halo 3 and think it looks crap [in comparison]

Gonna get together with the lads today and try polish off ODST on legendary [i think i only have 1 misson left].

I actually feel kind of excited about New Vegas and despite my difficulty in getting into single player games as of late, I kind of want to get it when it comes out, but at the same time, when I think of all the hours I spent playing the first game I am not so sure I really want to make that kind of commitment to a game again.

Same, it actually took me a while to condition myself to stop drinking irradiated cola ;)

That's probably Poison Ivy type shit. I do want to play Arkham Asylum.

Absolutely no fucking way will I touch another HALO game, unless if Microsoft gives me 500,000 MS points.

Can't wait for New Vegas.

Erm... Gryphon.  I sent you some blueprints.  I'm curious if you got a message or if you just have to know to go to your blueprint inbox in the garage.

Let me know.  Hope you like them.

Thanks Xhonzi! Both were in the blueprint inbox in the garage.

Would anyone know of a program similar to DVDProfiler in terms of keeping track of a video game collection?

You don't have to have Gold to compete via leaderboard.  You're not playing head to head in real time, just comparing highscores for each challenge.

How about sharing blueprints?

I'm pretty sure you can do this with just Silver as well.

I've seen a ton of Halo related blue-prints, but so far haven't come across any Star Wars ones.

I'd like to see some wacky blueprints and not really caring about Star Wars or Halo. Maybe some type of Wallace and Gromit ones?

After really getting into Fallout 3 and hearing all the old Fallout fans talk about how horrible FO3 was, I decided to check out the old ones. Tried both one and two out for about 20 min or so each, and really didn't find anything to keep my attention beyond that. Guess whatever it is about FO3 that the old fans don't like, must be the same things that made me enjoy it so much.

I actually feel kind of excited about New Vegas and despite my difficulty in getting into single player games as of late, I kind of want to get it when it comes out, but at the same time, when I think of all the hours I spent playing the first game I am not so sure I really want to make that kind of commitment to a game again.

I've read there'll be FAR more individual and celebrity voice actors for various characters for New Vegas.

Local GameStop. Was on sale for $40, brought in a game for store credit and only needed to give a bit of cash. Was cool especially since I hadn't seen the store manager in a long time and dude recognised me. It was for the new still sealed and the offer already expired on the 8th.

He asked me if I wanted to reserve FALLOUT: New Vegas. Not yet until I fully complete FO1, 2, 3 and MAYBE Tactics. Hell, it's only a $5 deposit but I might also wait for the DLC/add-ons.

Been wanting to play the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

I'm really digging Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts.  The difficulty/challenge really ramps up in this game.  The first couple of hours- any challenge can more or less be beaten by making your car faster, which can be done by adding an engine or 4 to it.    At ~25 hours, I think I'm 2/3s of the way done, and some of the challenges in the game now are real brain teasers.

Are you still playing, DarkGryphon?  If so, you should add me on XBL (xhonzi) so we each have someone to compare scores with.  So far, none of my friends have/play this game.  Except for my wife, and I'm tired of beating my wife.

I still have it but I'm playing FALLOUT 3 currently. Mostly has Silver Account instead of Gold. Only other friend on it is my younger brother who currently lived out of country working for the military.

Drag00n2019

Funny I sold Fallout 3 vanilla for 360 ages ago and this week I finally bought the Game of the Year Edition for EXACTLY $31.38. I had 2/5 of the add-ons. New Vegas? No way am I playing it yet! Still playing FALLOUT 1 & 2 from the FALLOUT Trilogy DVD-ROM. Figure I complete those two, I'm rewarding myself with New Vegas. Tactics? NO CLUE.

FALLOUT 3 for PC looks like it's only $19.62 from Fry's Electronics. I might get it just for tons of "in-universe" type mods. Including adding 100 songs to GNR, higher res textures and bigger bewbles.

I'm also considering modding OBRIVION too.

Here's the links to my forum about the torrents for... (All are original format PAL DVD.) It includes custom cover art which I didn't make. Credit goes towards those who made the covers.

Cybermen: The Early Years

Daleks: The Early Years

The Pertwee Years

Have a problem with PAL? Sorry but that's how Doctor Who was filmed/shot/broadcasted in.

Sorry, no disc label art as of yet.

I've also been wanting to buy a PS2 just so I can play a ton of Dynasty Warriors games. Same for XBOX 360. I eagerly blame RED CLIFF: Parts I & II for me wanting to play these!

EDIT: I've been wanting to get Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.

Whats Red Cliff: Parts I & II ? never played any dynasty warriors games - but if theyre on xbox 360 too, might give em a look.

C3PX - Have only played the first level of L4D so far, gonna dust off my mic and try out the co-op game tonight - never used the mic before, so im a bit nervous about talking to complete strangers! but you said it was good so gotta find out!

RED CLIFF: Parts I & II is best John Woo film of all time. I last played a Dynasty Warriors game ages ago on PS2. I rarely have Gold account for XBOX Live anyway.

I bought Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts last Friday. Still a bit irritated cause I want to building a submarine. Fun game too.

Yes!  Another BK:N&B fan!  I bought it for my kids, but it turns out I've played it more than they have.

Which reminds me... I let BioShock 2 pull me away from N&B... I need to get back to it after I finish Batman.

I've been meaning to buy The Orange Box (PC) just cause I can turn the graphics to 11, the rest for XBOX 360 being BioShock 2; FALLOUT 3: Game of the Year Edition; WOLFENSTEIN (I love kicking Nazi ass); ALIENS versus PREDATOR and I dunno what else. Maybe a fun racing game for shits and giggles in the same vein of Burnout: Paradise.

After further digging, it seems the TV movie was also released on DVD in Japan, presumably in its native NTSC format. Needless to say, this DVD seems impossible to find on sale anywhere, but it would be interesting to know if it is an option for video without the IVTC issues that the UK PAL release had.

I've read there's also a release of the TVM in Hong Kong. Which IVTC issues are those by the way?

Looking for definitive versions of these films. The Miramax version of Hard Boiled is okay, but the aspect seems a bit off and it uses dubtitles.

The new Miramax version of the Killer is downright awful. It uses a PAL master and incorporates the deleted scenes that are on the original DVDs. Plus the Blu-ray is interlaced. STAY AWAY!!

I have the original Criterion releases (non anamorphic) for both of these, and still use this to watch The Killer. After recently watching this version it made me think of just how much I wanted to see it restored to its former glory.

Easiest response ever. Just get the Mei-Ah and Dragon Dynasty releases of HARD-BOILED. For THE KILLER, just get the Joy Sales/Fortune Star release.

Miramax never released either of these.

I also remember reading that the DVD of the 1996 movie was a botched IVTC, with blended fields all over the place. Is this true? (I know I could always Google it, but I can't be bothered right now). If this is the case, then a Custom DVD with the film frames reconstructed (Avisynth SRestore?) would be a useful first step before attempting any edits.

Yes this is true but I have yet to find a useful combination of filters to automatically correct it, there are many blended fields but also a few dropped fields.

I think some of the problem come from it being shot as 24fps and edited after pulldown at 30fps, then all effects shots were native 30fps, so the IVTC screws them up.

I once started correcting it manually (via AviSynth) and got about 20 min done, but I got quite bored and haven't gone back to it in a while.

I'd like to see a proper edit of the TV movie that removes any half-human references.

Hell, I might give that a stab after the new DVD comes out later this year ...

I hadn't heard about the new dvd ...(quick look at wikipedia and Galifrey base) ... looks like there will be more special features but a new / fixed transfer seems unlikely.

It might be a new re-encoding. I have no clue for certain.

So I hope the proposed fan-edit for TVM will remain in the original PAL? Wait, it was originally mastered in NTSC? No bother, I'm more worried about the other titles on the list.

Perhaps a custom Disc 2 label art for Silver Nemesis to match up with the upcoming/soon-to-be released R2 UK one? It'd be DL for the extended one and the documentary.

I wish I kept my audio edit of the Master's trial (real Daleks, the Dalek control room noise and mix of Delgado and Ainley defiant to the end).

Might give it another go once I get a chance.

Stand-alone or precluding narrative? I hope you used alot of Delgado.

If "They're bringing back X" rumors were true even 50% of the time, Paul McGann would have returned at least twice every season.  I wouldn't hold my breath for the return of the Yeti.

I really should get around to watching The TV Movie and listen to the Big Finish audioplays for McGann.

The Stone Dalek didn't look as fake as the rest of the iDalek squad.

We still don't know what that hatch in the back is for either.

I don't mind them being bigger so much but the should have made the head proportionally bigger too and avoided comparisons with a rubber nipple.

I know the old joke,

Q "How many Doctor Who fans does it take to change a light bulb?"

A "Change?"

but these new boys are just stupid looking, even more so than the new look Silurians.

I've read randomly they're bringing the Yeti back. No clue if it's true. Would like it if the Sea Devils returned. Hey check out my Doctor Who preservation thread.

Possibly as a longer version like some of the other releases have had? Also gonna get Revisitations 1?

How about if these do get made into covers I'd like a stipulation they'd only use the Region 2 2|E DVD releases style. I've found a couple for the Years ones. No thanks for the Region 1 WB style. What about disc labels?

I'm sure Making of Silver Nemesis might be on the DVD release.

EDIT: What about preserving the entiretly of the Doctor Who Confidential episodes as originally aired?

All of Classic Who 1963-1989 & 1996, the stories which still have accompanying video, will still be released in 2011-2013. No, this thread is more about the titles which have very little chance to appear onto DVD officially.

I am a Region 1 local but I’ve been importing Doctor Who from Region 2 UK obviously.

This is more about the releases such as Shada and the “Years” series of VHS. There were older torrents but those are dead and gone now. DVD covers already exist for the “Years” though. There sould be alot of others including random documentaries which have been released onto VHS.

Any future suggestions are welcome.

Perhaps maybe a new VHS to DVD transfer? I wouldn’t even use any softening filters whatsoever. It would matter if these are the original PAL.

Please peruse the following links below.

The Hartnell Years

The Troughton Years

The Pertwee Years

Daleks: The Early Years

Cybermen: The Early Years

The Tom Baker Years

The Colin Baker Years

Shada

Silver Nemesis: Extended Version (Note this extended cut won’t be released onto DVD.)

More Than 30 Years in the TARDIS

There should be more.

I got the Raiders of the Lost Ark AVCHD but there's no way I'm signing up for Newsgroups.

Petition for the Theatrical Cuts of the Original Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-ray
Time

Warbler said:

DarkGryphon,  the petition doesn't say anything about getting OOT released before those other movies.  It just talks about getting OOT released on Bluray.     Those other movies I pretty sure will get released without a petition(especially the Indiana Jones movies).   If you don't want to sign the petition and state your reasons for not doing so, that's fine.   But do you have to do it so rudely?   Take it from someone who is therapy and learning from past mistakes.   Being rude and angry gains you nothing in life.

One final question:  if you care so little about Star Wars,  how come you've posted to a Star Wars forum over 250 times?

Look where the majority of my posts are on this forum and look if they're in the actual Star Wars sections or not.

Jay, it's fucking ironic The Clone Wars CGI shit-fest is on Blu-ray first compared to the OOT, isn't it? I'm sure that's a slap in the face for persons such as yourself who in fact want Star Wars on Blu-ray. Actually, in fact the ONLY way I'll purchase Star Wars ever again if it's released in a way similar to the BLADE RUNNER 5-Disc Complete Collector's Edition on Blu-ray which has all versions of the film in the set. See? That'd be the only way I'd buy Star Wars on Blu-ray. Goes for all six films too, both theatrical with all variant sound mixes, versions, edition, revisions and etcetera applicable to said series. I know Labyrinth is already on Blu-ray and I'm planning to purchase it along with The Dark Crystal. No idea if you've even heard of Jim Henson's The Storyteller and Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Greek Myths.

Frink, I killed my "daddy", thank you kindly.:)

Star Wars just isn't in any of my active tiers of interest anymore. Thank you George Lucas for not prioritising any other properties you have over Star Wars. No thanks for the over-gamut of current shite for it.

Maybe I'll rent Mishima: A life in Pictures sometime from Netflix. Yeah, it's a LucasFilm Ltd. production. Criterion Collection released a 2-Disc set. Dare I even mention of wanting to watch Radioland Murders?

Wasn't WILLOW intended to be a prelude to a film trilogy but it underperformed at the box office? Then the proposed trilogy was made into a book trilogy. Yeah, fucking sure right!

Bring on Red Tails and other projects LusacFilm Ltd. has which are unrelated to Star Wars.

EDIT: Well yeah I am being an asshole and snarky cheeky bastard about this.
