RELEASED: "Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Special Longer Version)"
Time

DVD 3) The FanFiltration Edit of STTMP (Using most of the updated effects footage and sound from the Director's Cut DVD)
Most of the footage for this version is imported from the DVD sets (but this is a major re-ordering and edit of that footage), and the rest of the missing footage was taken (and enhanced) from a letterbox High Definition broadcast version. The original audio track is taken from the Lasers of the 79 and 83 versions and the Director's Cut DVD set. DVD #3 will also include A new Fanfiltration made production "Refit of the The Enterprise NCC-1701" and also "Where Nomad Had Gone Before" a FanFiltration re-edit of a number of Original Star Trek episodes that now become a Just for fun feature film style event.

This all sounds fantastic! How long will your edit of TMP be, as i think the 'establishing shots' overran a hell of a lot. The extras all sound interesting, especially the last two, are they going to try to be like new mini-eps or something

All the best

PS: From what's above I MAY have a go at some cover art.

Idea: Preserving STAR TREK - a preservation project?
Time

This is Star Trek’s 40th Anniversary year. All the movies and TV series will be out by the end of the year thanks to the release of the Animated Series. There is, however, a load of games and stuff with footage of the cast back in character which are rare.

On trekmovie.com, there were commericals for PowerGen and DirecTV. Only the latter is downloadable. I’m asking if anyone would be intersted in doing a Trek Preservation project? There are games and stuff like this which could be ‘archived’ and even fanedited.

The live action ones include:
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION - A Klingon Challenge interactive video board game (1995)
STAR TREK: Borg (1996) - PC Interactive Movie - on youtube but would be good to have a dvd
STAR TREK: Klingon (1996) - PC Interactive movie
STAR TREK: Starfleet Academy (1997) - PC Game with live-action footage of the Shat, Takei and Koenig
Powergen Commercial (c. 1996) - With Shatner and Doohan
DirecTV commercial (2006) - The Shat appears with his face cut into a TUC video

There are loads of animated spoofs - Futurama, the Simpsons, family etc… who’s with me!? Where do we start?

Idea: Another Star Trek Phase 2 idea
Time
Hi

I know a guy who's already sorted the whole STAR TREK movie saga into films (Well nearly)

He's done Eps 2&3 as the lst two TOS episodes, called SPACE PLANT and RETURN TO GENESIS. RTG ends where they take Spock to Vulcan.

Then the other guy you mentioned is doin TMP as IN THY IMAGE - a pilot show.

In Dan's mind , (i love all this continuity rubbish!!) that was a format tester, and the Spock Vulcan stuff hes done as TURN BACK TIME as the first ep of phase ii the series, resolving the cliffhanger from TOS. THE VOYAGE HOME is his second ep.

IN THYIMAGE (Marshalls version of V) is the third ep, and I suggested that the do THE UNDISCOVERED COUTNRY as a two part finale to the mini series (God, I've got on his wick!).

Generations is divided in two, the Enterprise B part is THE FINAL JOURNEY, a 20 min tv special, and KIRKLESS GENERATIONS is the finale of TNG.

The rest hasnt been done yet (FIRST CONTACT'S untouchable), but he was gonna do INSURRECTION as Star Wars IX, but apparantly it didnt work.

Chou 4 now,

Dan
