STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Here's a Yoda related idea..........

When Yoda first meets Luke and is playing the part of a crazy old hermit we see him comically digging into Luke's supply case - and we get a nice shot of his little feet.

Perhaps Ady can have Yoda's toes wiggling a bit while he is in there? Just a little bit though, something subtle to add even more life to him.

And 1 more Vader related idea.......in the scene where we see him using the force to toss items at Luke perhaps we can see some sparks as the machinery is removed from the interior?

Here is a really really rough PS mock-up...............although if Ady does it at all I wouldn't use this much sparks/electricity......something more toned down perhaps?

I really hope my name is in the credits too.......that would be A W E S O M E !

I wasn't around for the jump off of AnH revisted and only came on board toward the end around the time of the debates over the arm on the floor in the cantina. Lol - fun times :)

But I'm glad to say I've been around from the beginning of this project and can't wait for the final version.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

I am bummed out right now.

I just tried watching my burned copy of SW AnH revisited on my Ps3 and got a 80029941 error message.

What is weird is I could swear it played before for me as I've had the Ps3 for a while now. I tried burning a new DvD and got the same message. It always worked great on my old ancient DvD player.....so much for "advanced technology".

Is my only choice to try to convert the info on the disc into an avi file?

Since I'm in favor of keeping the balcony shot, I'd assume (as I guess I always have) the following shot is simply a moment or 2 later when they've returned inside.

Ady could add a bit of orange lighting into the following shot though I guess as suggested above.

This particular scene honestly never jarred me out of the movie in terms of being inconsistent, like other SE's scenes have.

Nice new shots Ady..............the re-coloring and new laser bolt look awesome.

The shot of Luke and Vader is sweeeeeeet. So crisp and clean and the sabers look great. I also like the little touch of the red lights down in the pit! Subtle but nice!

I'm glad you are leaving the balcony shot.......I think it's one of the things that the SE's did right. I just wish the new backgrounds on Bespin had been a bit more consistent.

Wow.....glad to read AdY that you may be looking at making the falcon appear thicker in the shots of it entering cloud city as I suggested a while ago.

LoL @ you guys spotting Frank Oz head.........can't beleive I never noticed that one!

I'm loving flipping through these pages and seeing the attention you guys are paying to detail and all the cool mock ups.

Someone also mentioned using some lines from the radio drama...........that could be interesting too. Just wondering what if anything Ady might use though?

Lastly, any thoughts on possibly making some of the animal life on Dagobah a bit more "alien"? Even if only by doing some subtle color differences or exaggerated features?

On a related note - I'm sure you guys have seen these Ralph McQuarrie pics but they are new to me.....imagine getting a glimpse of something like this.......(Just an idea since I read a few pages back that Ady may be doing some model work and making a Wampa)

Well I can see some of us think changing the slug might work and some like it as is. Nothing wrong with that.

These are just ideas being kicked around. Many of the great new bits from AnH-R originally began as far fetched ideas way back when, so you never know.

One reason I might like to see the slug altered a bit is that a new mouth (or something like we see in the mock-up) looks a bit more like a cave opening. Another is that it's way more disturbing looking and less puppet-like. As I mentioned earlier the inside PoV when they are escaping (as we've also seen in rough mock-ups) could be great as well.

"But it's Adywan's call."

^^ Exactly - Ady will either consider it or decide to leave it as is.

I'm good with that either way.

The scene with Vader, Ozzel, Veers and Piett.

Vader; "That is the system and I'm sure skywalker is there. Set your course for the Hoth system. General Veers preprare your men"

Will you be omitting the line that vader states "I'm sure skywalker is there"

I hope so and the reason being that if vader is looking for skywalker then the whole scene with the emperor is pointless as he surprised that skywalker is strong in the force and he blew up the death star.

^^ I think that line in particular should deffinitly stay as is.....it helps with the idea that Vader has clearly been plotting behind the emperor's back and has his own plans (we even see this later on when he speaks to Luke about joining him).

When speaking to the Emperor Vader is not "surprised" per say....he's putting a show on for the Emperor.

These are great subtle subplots that give us a glimse of the Sith and the relationship between Palps & Vader.......I'd really hate to see all of that simplified.

If I remember correctly in the SE DVD the consistency of the millennium falcon when entering cloud city is off. The falcon is thinner in the the new CG shots and thicker in the old shots. I think this is most obvious when it lands on the platform.

Once the ship has docked it's back to it's usual thickness.

Something to look at AdY?

"yeh i always thought it looked a bit flat but having looked at it closer it seems the shadowing is off giving it the flat effect. Its the same CG model that is used in the previous shot when being pursued by Slave 1 and also used in ANH SE and it looks fine then. I'm not sure what i can do with it but something does need to be done."

^^ Thanks for getting back to me AdY...I know you have a million posts to sift through.

The most recent shots of cloud city you posted are looking awesome. As someone else mentioned your skills and talents have grown since AnH....I can only imagine how great RoTJ will turn out down the line at this rate.

Awesome work........Yoda is now perfect iMo. I wouldn't change a thing if I were you Ady. What's there now is 95% the puppet we all know & love...and 5% subtle tweaking. The perfect combo.

I really look forward to all the other Yoda scenes even more so now based on this accomplishment. Of course I know we may not get to see them all for sometime.....but still.

Will you be doing any work to the scene where we see Yoda walking in the distance back toward his home? (tweaking his movements to be more fluid)

Now this is specifically what I was MOST looking forward too. The Yoda touch-ups!

So far........EXCELLENT!

I'm not really seeing any problem with any of your added mouth movements. They are spot on....in fact they are looking better than what I recall seeing from the PT's CG Yoda.

The only thing I might suggest (as others have) is perhaps a few subtle blinks or eye movements here and there.

I'm also wondering have you tried slightly tweaking his face a bit more (ie very subtle cheek, brow, forehead movement?) I think doing so might help complement the fine work you have already done with the mouth in that the rest of Yoda's face wont stand out as static.

I know you are not going for the full PT CG Yoda look (thankfully, lol) but I think by tweaking the eyes and perhaps a teeny bit more it might all blend together better.

Just something to think about maybe trying.

Awesome work so far AdY.

Happy new Year bTW AdY & everyone!

Thanks AdY

You can download and run VLC from your flash drive. It actually runs BETTER on my machine from the flash drive. I have all of Ady's ESB previews and the way to watch it in my pocket at all times.

Wow, I'm a huge nerd.

"Well TFN can go f**k themselves. I have just got banned with no reason even given. I did nothing over at those boards apart from defending someone who didn't like my edit and was being attacked for saying he didn't. I wasn't aggressive in any manor. Now they're trying to make out that i'm not adywan but in fact the guy who started the argument

The mods there can stick their pathetic site so far up their arse that they'll be able to clean their teeth with it."

^^ Yeah I stopped posting there years ago. There were a few very cool people but overall the place is ZERO fun.

Waaaaaaaaaay too strict.

Way too many "cliks" very quick to take sides and snitch out fellow members in hope of a banning.

Way too many mods who abuse their precious internet power.

They will crap on Ady's edit...........yet what have any of them contibuted to the SW scene?

NOTHING.

-1, I figure what DF Shadow was getting at wasn't so much Ady's excellent color correction and whatnot, but the fact that GL has no interest in releasing a proper version of the OUT...which was the original reason for this site's existence, basically. :p As awesome as Ady's 1080p stuff is, it's still slightly-modified SE versions.

^^ Exactly...Thanks for clarifying for me.

Negative one took what I said off an odd place.

lol

Anyway, I'm actually more than content with Ady's version of AnH and can't wait for the rest.

^^ Wow the thought of SW finally on bluray one day excites me - but the thought of it simply being the same versions only in higher Q sucks.

I don't have faith in GL to give the movies the proper care and treatment that Adywan has been doing.

Anyway back on topic............lol......

"I'm not sure if i will do anything about that. After all, with Luke missing almost all of them it does show just how inexperienced he is and that Yoda was right when he said that he wasn't ready to face Vader"

^^ Makes sense. Your right, it does work better having him miss...plus its not like we don't get to see a more refined warrior in RoTJ.

Hey Ady & everyone - cool to be back in this thread.....

I'd really like to see Vader's helmet locked down in EsB as others have mentioned.

Ady - you seem to be leaning toward leaving it as (which is cool as well) but I wonder what you think about maybe making it wobble only slightly yet still maintain a feel of rigidity?

Also, this may have already been mentioned but will you be slightly altering the scene where Vader tosses objects at Luke so that Luke actually hits a few of them instead of just swatting at them?

Aside from the obvious things like removal of the emperor's "slugs" (how many years have we been asking for this one? lol) it might be cool to touch up the emperor's eyes.

Perhaps make them glow as they do in RoTS. Especially when he is shocking Luke.

"m really intrigged by the idea of changeing Vader's line from "Obi-Wan once thought..." To "Your Mother once thought as you do". I really like this idea"

^^ I've always liked this idea. It is a great PT tie-in. If it can be edited properly to sound natural I'd say go for it.
