The Dark Side Of Oz (Released)
Time

Wow I have been away from this website for over 3 years.  :)  Judging by the email I get each month I bet some of you are hoping I'm here to announce a new edit.  Sadly that isn't the case.  In fact I'm just posting here to answer a few questions.

You see I get email from people who are looking for or like my edits.  I thought instead of answering the same few questions over and over again I would post them online and hopefully that will cut down on some of the repeat email.

#####

Q.  Did you edit "insert random edit name here," because it was great?

A.  I only made a few edits way back in 2004 - 05.  Pulp Fiction, The Evil Dead, Halloween: The Night He Came Home and The Dark Side of Oz were all completely edit by me.  After those four I pretty much dropped out of the fan edit scene.  I also preserved Curt Markham's Beer Wars by after OCP asked if I could help on that.  I re-edited the whole thing and Rikter created a pretty good DVD menu for it.  I also did some pretty kick ass DVD menus for a preservation of the Theatrical Edit of Episode I that Rikter was putting together.  So if it wasn't one of those six projects then I didn't make it but I am glad you really liked it.  :)

Q.  Can you send me a copy of "insert random edit name here?"

A.  Believe it or not I don't even own a copy of my edits.  Over the years hard drive failures and lost discs pretty much killed my whole collection of work.  You would think I would have tons of copies laying around but that isn't true.  I also wasn't the one to put my edits on the torrent sites.  (Fun Fact: I still to this day have yet to use a torrent)  So if you are looking for copies of my edits I'm the last guy you should ask about that.

Q.  Why did you edit all your posts on ot.com that contained information about your edits?

A.  The short answer is that I was starting a business with the same name as my fan editor name.  By deleting all my Crappy Logo Productions posts I was able to remove my name from most google searches and start fresh.  It was just a way of me distancing my self from the work I did in school and the work I would go on to finish after school.  Of course now years have passed and I no longer own my own produciton company so that is why I am now posting under this name again.  Oh and because I'm a hypocrite by nature...sorry.

Q.  I loved your DVD menu designs on "insert random fan edit here" and was wondering if you would be willing to work on my project?

A.  I never really know how to answer this question.  On one hand I love to make DVD menus.  In fact I get paid to do that from time to time.  Working on a fan edit on the other hand is a little different.  I need to have a lot of passion for a project or at least see some potential in the edit being made before I can commit to something like that.  Really good DVD menus are a lot of work and with my schedule I never know if I can agree to complete a project.  So I guess the short answer is maybe but so far I have only agreed to one.

Q.  Can you help me edit my new project?

A.  In the past I always answered these emails with helpful tips on how to accomplish what they were looking for.  I'm still not sure if I would help someone with an edit but like the questions above, if it's cool enough maybe.

#####

Hopefully that answers a few of your questions about my edits.  Now don't think I get lots of email but about every other month I get an email asking one of the above five questions.  Keep up the great work everyone and have fun.

CLP

P.S.  I just thought of one other question.

Q.  Are you the same guy that used to post on ot.com under the name Mackey256?

A.  Yes

Secrets out.  ;)

Info: The LID Project: Laserdisc is dead.

Congratulations ocp. You've just earned a free vacation from the boards.

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!

Did you seriously just ban OCP from the boards because he doesn't agree with you?

I know I haven't been around here for years like some people but what the f*** man? Is that fair to ban someone because you don't agree that he thinks DVD is better quality then laserdisc? Look I really don't have a lot of pull around here but who the hell are you to ban someone because they don't agree with your precious XO Project?

Editing with After Effects?
Time
Hmmm, I don't see it anymore. I wonder if it was on my failed hardrive...

If you just had a software version of it you must have downloaded it. Bad MeBeJedi, Bad! (You know when you type something like that it just isn't as funny as when you say it to someone in person)

AVID needs a dongle to work on a computer and yes you need XP to run it. Without the dongle you can't get the software to work legaly.

The real question is why are you running a windows computer without XP?
