I thought so too but after seeing this is really think Empire’s is slightly different, the Fox logo looks a bit thinner than SW’s, although it’s obviously meant to be the same thing. I’d love if somebody could check this and make some comparisons, it would be cool if each of the 3 original films had different Fox logos, cause it always bugged me a bit that Jedi has a different one than the other two

I could tell something was off with it when I first saw the “old” one initially. But is that “old” ALI one the version that was used for Empire? Because I always thought it looked slightly different to SW’s, not just cropped different but the logo looks less chunky and the sky looks like a darker blue for Empire

Thank GOD they removed the infamous hair from the top right, that would’ve bugged me so much otherwise. Technically a change but it’s the only visual one I was hoping for

Although isn’t the top one Empire’s 20th century logo? I know it’s labeled SW on it by them, but maybe they mistook Empire’s intro for SW’s and that’s why they’ve re done it, because I know the blues are stronger in ESB’s version of the logo

Nahhh, I just don’t blindly kiss his ass anymore. He could’ve done a lot more for us, only 6 films and 1 proper animated series in 35 years? And you can’t say quality over quantity because 3 of those films were poorly executed. This “franchise” is a joke.

I think it hurt him his feelings Disney not using his story treatments. Maybe even incensed him.

Selling to Disney is 4 billion dollars worth of reasons for the Original to get reissued. The so called secret Lucas contract forbidding their release appears to have been a fan hoax. The only thing preventing such was the purchase of 20th Century Fox and Disney acquiring all the assets finally, means Star Wars 1977 is Disney’s.

That finished in 2019 and for Star Wars 40th they did not own the rights in 2017.

This coincides with John Landis in 2015 claiming Lucas told him Disney was gonna release the originals, and they probably would’ve for the 40th if they’d owned Fox. Why else would they purchase Fox for that much?
But at the same time I’d always heard that Lucas bought the rights to the original Star Wars from Fox in the early 90s, as he only owned Empire and Jedi and also probably so he could prevent them re releasing the original film, so who knows.

I think George now treats Star Wars the same way he has treated Marcia since ‘83, they don’t exist in his mind. That would track with the divorce analogy.

Yes I used a screenshot of it as a thumbnail for a video once, looks absolutely gorgeous, but was very disappointed it didn’t include the “dressing room” scene 😂. I wonder what format it was shot on?

I really hope we get Return of the Ewok in the highest possible resolution. Even if it’s just for that one sequence (you know the one 😉)

Do we know if the weird pitch lowering done to Yoda’s voice in the stereo and 70mm mix of ESB will be fixed in the new 7.1 mix? Specifically the scene in his hut when he’s saying “Patience, soon you will be with him” and “Why wish you become Jedi?” etc.

I know it would technically be a change but it isn’t like that in the mono mix so I feel like it may have been a mistake (or they realised that pitching his voice down to make him sound less annoying goes against the point of the scene). Plus it was also “fixed” in the SE

That’s the only thing that bothers me about the original stereo mix of Empire

Just people in the comments on my YouTube video/community post and on Rick Worley’s terrible special edition video. “Anomaly Inc” and “ZoetropeGuardian” are incredibly upset at me and the fact that this is happening in general, I’m sure Rick Worley is too. Hi guys, I’m the one who posted the leaked clips on YouTube a few weeks ago, which got over 50k views. I’m so happy to share this moment with all of you, this is truly a historic day and probably the most important day in Star Wars history. Without sounding egotistical I can confidently say that my video of the leaked clips getting the attention that it did definitely pushed them into announcing this early, which does feel good to have contributed in some way, but either way I’m just so happy to be here with you all and I genuinely still can’t believe that this finally happening. The fact that this is going to genuinely upset some people too is so funny to me, I’m sure some of you might’ve seen people upset at me in the comments of the video, and there will probably be more on my community post, but the bottom line is all versions of the films should’ve always been available, especially the originals, so I’m so happy for everybody who’s ever contributed to this site, and I’m also sad knowing some people never lived to see this day, and it’s a great shame that they’re not here to celebrate.

Let’s all enjoy this moment and let the weight of this monumental day fully sink in, congratulations guys. Dreams do indeed come true.
