Please no comments about just using the MKV and using a streaming device (which i already have...) and telling me how physical media is dead, blah blah blah. Or telling me to just wait...

May be not the best way to end a question when looking for an answer ....

Google can help you though .....

that is just making a Blu from existing files, not converting the MKV. Unless I missed something...

and the only reason for my "end" is that is often the "answer" people give. Nothing to really answer the question...

TANSTAAFL

Sometimes the price of knowledge is patience and politeness.

And I would wholeheartedly disagree with you on "There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch". Harmy provides us with his fabulous work for "free", I'm using free tools (at the moment) to do this work.

On any forum, it seems there are those that will help and those that just want to tell you "their thoughts" on why you are doing it wrong. I see it all the time in this thread alone. And I have Googled a million ways to make a BD from a MKV and they almost always lead to TSMuxer, which wouldn't even open the MKV I had. It would remux the files, so I am trying something on my own, thank you very much.

Can anyone PM me or post the best way to convert the MKV to a BD WITH a Menu and retaining all the audio tracks? I have demuxed the whole thing, and tried rebuilding it in DVD Architect but it didn't like the DTS files, nor the H264 video. I tried renaming the h264 to mp4 etc...and nothing seemed to work. Please no comments about just using the MKV and using a streaming device (which i already have...) and telling me how physical media is dead, blah blah blah. Or telling me to just wait...

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released)
Time

I have (had?) a airline copy of the movie that I know was prior to editing for home video. It had the Betty Boop frame, the Baby Herman finger, and the one "Non-Panty" frame of Jessica in the car crash...Maybe I can dig up. It's probably 3 gen VHS though.

Edited to add: Guess that is not really needed now...unless it was just to confirm certain scenes that might have been changed.

Laserdisc players - screenshot comparison
Time

I've got 4 NTSC Laserdisc players and just got a Pioneer Elite CLD-97 which is considered one of the finest LD players ever produced. I do have a Panasonic DVD Recorder, as well as a Digital 8mm camera with pass through to FireWire that I've used for computer transfers. What is a decent PCIe type capture card if I wanted to go analog?

I have 100s of laserdiscs and would love do some decent captures.

Has anyone ever seen the Laser Disc "THX-Wow?"
Time
I have both the original laserdisc THX-WOW, and the THX Ultimate Demo Disc. They are different. What most people are refering to as the VOBs are the 7 minute opening of the laserdisc that was "re-done" for the DVD (in 5.1 sound now for DVD) with all scenes from Lucas movies (SW, Indiana Jones, and Willow).

I don't know of anyone that has transfered the original laserdisc to DVD yet, but it is completely possible. The extras of both discs are completely different.

Here is two pictures of the covers (front a back)

Here are the links to the fullsize ones if you wanna try and read the backs:

Info Wanted: The laserdiscs vs. The best bootlegs
Time
The video of laserdisc was/is analog, and originally the sound was as well. However not long after it started, they introduced digital sound on the laserdiscs. Those discs would be able to use the optical output of the laserdisc players and get true digital sound.

I transfered a few lasers (music titles) audio to my computer via the optical out > optical in, and noticed a my OLD (pre-digital sound) lasers wouldn't transfer via the optical out. So I believe that is ONLY for digital sound laserdiscs.

But the video was always analog.
