Good to hear! Hopefully the cleaning process is going smoothly?
Looking good! Can’t wait to see the rest 😃. It’s quite bizarre how much of a difference colour makes to the overall feel of a film, never really used to notice it.
Looks awesome, great colours!
Beautiful restoration 44rh1n! The colours look rich and vivid and are more refined than the ‘You_Too’ blanket color correction, although i still like some of the outdoor scenes from that version (Arwen riding with Frodo, the hobbits at Weathertop, maybe just because they’re a bit lighter). Having said that, your version is obviously much more preferable, with more natural colors and light, making it more of a cohesive thing. Thank you very much for your work!
Hope you’ll continue working on it, hope somebody can help you with this Netflix version. (can’t rip it properly myself either…)
All donors will have access to preliminary versions via private distribution channels, and the final project will be released on the spleen and one or two other private spots that users around here are likely to have access to. Beyond that, I can explore other options, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Thanks for clarifying, i’d like to make a donation as well 😃
Looks good! Would it be possible to share it here via a MEGA link with a password, for instance? Since we’re not all on blutopia/myspleen…
Oh Wow, sounds very good! All the best to the project 😃
or is it now more advisable/easier just to get the newer BD release with the lossy version and sync that with the Mondo? Thanks in advance! 😃
The tracks from the new Kino blu-ray are lossless.
English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (48kHz, 16-bit)
English: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (48kHz, 16-bit)
Italian: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0
Note: Italian/English 2.0 Mono …
However, i don’t know if they actually sound better than what’s released with the Mondo…
Loved this regraded version as well! I much prefer natural colours to the enhanced ‘feel’ of the colour grading a lot of films get. Thanks kk650 😃
It was where i watched it. Didn’t give it too much notice at the time as i was concentrating on the film, but i do remember thinking the colors were a bit ‘off’.
Looks beautiful! I’d like a PM as well 😃 Really liked the movie in the cinema.
Here’s a review of the new 50th Kino remaster.
So, at least the mono track is supposed to be good! 😃
The complete remastered soundtrack has been released by Intrada records; it’s both the original soundtrack as released back in 1974 and the complete soundtrack of the film, as found on ‘recently discovered masters in Italy’. Might come in handy for any future fan fix/mixes 😃
