Something I’m curious about is if Disney+ has multiple versions of any film. The best way to check in my mind would be to see what they have for Avatar.
For Avatar they have two versions Theatrical and Theatrical with Family Friendly Audio. Alas, no Extended Edition (which is my preferred version of the film)
Ah I see, in my mind I had an idea where you cut the film down to it’s bones and plot points. (Without cutting stuff that might be referenced in TRoS. Basically a Sparknotes/Summary version of TLJ.
Stuff TRoS might keep/reference:
• Finn, Poe, Rose meeting
• Holdo Death
• Snoke Death
• Leia using the Force
• Luke imparting his wisdom to Rey
• Luke becoming one with the force
• Kylo becoming the Supreme leader
• Poe learning to be a leader
• A New Rebellion rising
That way you could eliminate the more questionable aspects/scenes/moments of the film. An edit that focuses primarily on Luke, Kylo and Rey without completely eliminating Poe, Finn, Leia, Rose, and Holdo.
If that isn’t possible then a edit of the film that you could watch with someone before TRoS comes out. Cause it’s been tradition among my friends to rewatch the Saga before every new entry and let’s just say TLJ divided our group and nearly turned/burned one of my friends off Star Wars. There’s just no way in hell I’d be able to get that half to sit through regular TLJ.

I’m new on the forums and thought I’d ask. Is there a Last Jedi edit/cut that essentially cuts as much as possible without cutting stuff that would potentially be featured/reference/have impact in The Rise of Skywalker? Something that cuts the more poorly written/unnecessary moments, and moments which lessen the Force Awakens but keeps Leia using the Force, the caretakers, and reincorporates worthwhile deleted scenes. Or a cut/edit of The Last Jedi that feels more inline with J.J. Abrams and The Force Awakens.
