I definitely want to include the Diana and Bruce drama from Whedon’s cut.
I definitely want to include the Diana and Bruce drama from Whedon’s cut.
Maybe make a cut cantering only on Cyborg and The Flash, since the original plans were to include Fisher in Ezra’s solo movie.
This edit combines the Joss Whedon cut of Justice League with the following Smallville episodes:
“Commencement”
“Arrival”
“Arctic”
“Finale”
The mother boxes and the search for the stones are parallel plotlines. Clark trying to turn his back on his destiny and failure to secure the Stones triggers the arrival of both Steppenwolf and Apokolips. The League search out Steppenwolf as he secures the boxes in his own quest. Both storylines ultimately merge into one as Clark embraces his destiny and helps the League defeat Steppenwolf.

Currently rendering the third draft, with luck I intend to release this on the same day as the Snyder Cut
Is there a way you can edit it so Brainiac at least takes control of Gus so he can create the experimental Kryptonite (and gets it wrong), and then have Brainiac fire it directly at Clark when he confronts it later, thus creating the twisted Superman?
Is that you Zarius?
Yep.

Here’s a mad little idea I had after reading about the recent dumb stunt from Marvel Comics (i.e, making Thor the son of the Phoenix Force), suppose we include such a twist in Thor: Ragnarok?
I’m using Dark Phoenix as a base, but have delved also into sequences from X-Men: Apocalypse too.
Examples:
-To establish that the Phoenix is the one on their way to claim Odin at the end of his life, we have shots of in between Thor’s arrival at Doctor Strange’s sanctum, she heads towards Earth. We next see her when Strange notifies Thor Odin is presented based in Norway (using the shot at the very end of Dark Phoenix to indicate she’s on her way there)
When Odin tells Thor that his mother is calling to him over in Norway, we can cut to shots of the Phoenix and then back to Odin
Ideas suggested to me have been shots of The Phoenix watching over her son throughout small scenes of the movie, building to her appearing before Thor and Loki at the end of the mid-credits scene (instead of them being confronted by Thanos’ ship)
Granted, this would completely unshackle this version of Thor Ragnarok from established MCU continuity, but as a standalone idea it would be nice to try this.
I’ve listened to the back-catalogue of 80s and 90s music so much I’ve become numb to them whenever they play on the radio.
The only music I don’t apparently tire of is 2000s music.
HELP.
Wow, your edit sounds nice, even though I don’t know if adding footage from “All Good Things” is maybe too jarring.
BTW, does anybody have a good copy of the workprint of this film that can share? I only have a terrible wmv version that’s almost unwatchable.…Oh bugger, I was meaning to make an MP4…
An MP4 of your edit or the workprint? It’d be nice to have both 😃
I’ll work on it, sorry for lumping you with a WMV copy.

I think there’s definitely some use one can make out of the recent “series 24-the collection” trailer reuniting Sylvester McCoy and Bonnie Langford…maybe merge it with the Dalek footage from RTD’s “It’s A Sin”?
Sounds right up my Death Star trench…hook me up with a link please.
Yes, the prequel material was redeemed by the expanded content such as The Clone Wars, but the appreciation for the actual prequel trilogy either comes from a desire to ‘fix’ them in post or to enjoy them ironically. Revenge of the Sith is a good movie, but is endlessly quotable for the wrong reasons, sans maybe the Plageius speech at a stretch.
What few ST spin-off content we have had so far hasn’t been that great, noone’s worked out a meatier hook for Sequel content just yet, and some of the actors are currently in their “won’t do that again phase” of their careers, or have X-Pac Heat with the fans.
Right now, it’s understandable there is a desire for more OT content because that’s the least divisive of all the trilogies (unless you count the special editions), and we often barely scratched the surface of what it can offer, where as in the prequel’s case, I feel we’ve explored pretty much everything by this point.
I get what you’re saying but I don’t see how said footage would be able to be used in any other context then the context of The Mandalorian.
I was thinking one sequence could be treated as a epilogue (complete with “years later” text), and a post-credit sequence for the other.
Who cares about context? It’s a fun exercise, and it’s a hell of a better alternative than yub nub.
A couple of scenes in The Madalorian episode 16 may come in handy if you want to expand Return of the Jedi just a little bit…
I thought I’d use a few bits and pieces of the episode “Extremis” to maybe expand Capaldi’s role in the pilot episode of the ill-fated spin off ‘Class’, I even created somewhat of a new “next time” trailer that features the imperial daleks and Ace (as a nod to an audio only episode of Class that features them)
I also replaced the opening title music with the 1990s theme for Grange Hill, which fits remarkably well.
That gets tricky to colour match, but it’s definitely possible!
Yeah, I’m hopeless with that kind of thing, would definitely have to leave it to others.
I was thinking somewhat of ‘enhancing’ my “Last Jedi, New Emperor” fanedit from a couple of months back by giving Kylo a new Death Star from Palpatine as well as a new fleet. I’d use Rogue One footage for most of it. If someone one wants to, they can blow it up in a ‘Rise of Skywalker’ edit and that can be the basis for Kylo’s ,last stand against Rey.
You could use the trench run Poe makes in TFA, and mix the footage to make it appear he destroys the Death Star.
Yeah, that’d be a good choice. Blend the trench run with the battle of Scariff too.
Maybe also trim down the bit where they’re discussing Starkiller Base so that they’re specifically talking about the Death Star.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Part 2 - The Consequences Edit by Wakeupkeo
This is definitely a worthy restructuring of BVS, no longer does it feel like mere “BS”, the film compliments Man of Steel well, choosing to sidestep the desert angle and pushing the senate hearings to reflect the aftermath of the battle with Zod instead. As the edit suggests, this is the consequence cut and Clark must be held to account. An inspired storytelling choice. There are a lot of surprises in this edit, a new take on the familiar Wayne tragedy, coupled with some very clever audio mixing, creates a whole different approach to the moment of madness that was the ‘Martha’ scene, the one scene that makes and breaks the movie for everyone.
This is the better half we deserve, this is Batman, more to the point, this is truly the Superman the editor craved. A decent guy trying to do the right thing in a world with very bleak ideas of what justice entails. Some films needn’t stay bad in this world.
Highly recommended.
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys - The Maze of the Minotaur Unclipped: By Gelfinghand
Hercules The Legendary Journies is itself a legendary show…every hero’s first steps have their minor stumbles however and this final entry in the five early direct-to-TV movie season for this man of myth was capped off by a last minute story that didn’t quite fulfil the required running team for a feature and had to be padded out with clips. Gelfinghand’s two versions makes this take on the story work without the constant distractions created by the reminders of past glories, allowing you the viewer to revel in the present situation and soak in the glorious nostalgia of cheap and cheesy 90s television. They sure don’t make 'em like this anymore.
Well done Gelfing
I’ve edited numerous versions of ‘Day of the Doctor’ already, and I’ve gotten the notion to try another one that gives Capaldi slightly more to do than just the “piercing eyes” cameo. To achieve this, I’m going to use footage of him on Gallifrey in “Hell Bent”, I’ll try to remove any and all references to the confession dial imprisonment if I can, and create the illusion he’s back on Gallifrey to depose Rassilon and assume command of the Time Lords to lead them through the final days. I also intend for Capaldi to interact with Eccelston, to that end I’m using footage of Chris reciting a war poem for Channel 4 back in 2013.
Sounds very ambitious, this is a recon style edit?
Ultimately tried a third take on ‘The Doctor Falls’ where Bill does leave The TARDIS, and Capaldi simply wakes up and doesn’t regenerate. Still used the ‘Husbands’ ending though.
So I’ve been messing around with “Hell Bent” and “The Doctor Falls”, and in both instances I wound up using the ending of ‘The Husbands on River Song’ on them. They work quite well.
For the Hell Bent version, you really just edit out Clara and Ashidlr’s conversation and also take out the soundtrack for when Twelve enters the TARDIS, then cut away from him standing in the ship’s interior to a shot of River emerging from the TARDIS into the restaurant near the singing towers, (indicating a passage of time without some cheesy ‘sometime later’ caption) and trim a few things here and there (remove River interacting with Nardole and the other guy in the robot suit), from there it works fair well.
The “Husbands” ending for Doctor Falls made for a better ending, largely because it’s an ending on top of another altered ending. As we know, The Doctor Falls ends on The Doctor resisting regeneration and meeting his first incarnation. In my cut, I infer that Bill’s girlfriend Heather ‘heals’ The Doctor and puts them both back on Earth where they spend the evening talking about Missy and eating chips (borrowing a flashback from “World Enough and Time”), after they discuss the Time Lords, we cut to River coming out of the TARDIS and steps into the restaurant near the singing towers.
This would probably require potential minor re-edits of earlier series ten episodes, possibly ‘Extremis’ to remove any reference of ‘Domestic Bliss On Delrinium’ from Missy. The forwards and backwards narrative of River’s timeline on her end could make it easier to gloss over other things such as Nardole being despatched by River on her final orders to look after The Doctor, which could still occur at any point after The Doctor’s visit in the ‘present’.
