Mace Windu was probably evil

Are you a grammar nazi? How many languajes do you speak? Do you know that not everyone that speak English live in USA? I've never been in any English speaking country and yet, I'm fairly sure my English is better than your Spanish.

Also, don't you make mistakes? Ever? I don't see the reason for the attitude I'm getting here.

When I registered I was really exited. I thought I was going to read some interesting posts. I guess I was hoping too much.

Bye!

Okay then. I will insist no further. If you are so convinced that Windu was intended as a dull character I'll leave it like that. Even when his sword, his actions, his gestures, his expanded story and Palpatine's arguments point otherwise, there is nothing I can do to convince people that is already convinced and not interesting in listening to reason.

I'm dissapointed. Most people didn't even thought about what I said. I did not said Mace Windu was a Sith. I used the word "evil" meaning a corrupt Jedi, a Jedi with ambition, with politic interests.

Yoda said something regarding the Jedi being corrupted. I'm not sure where, but he said so.

If you guys just see the movie with what I said in mind, you'll totally see Mace Windu's game in his acting and words.

- Having Anakin to stay and promising him something that could be read as "be good and don't poke your nose on this. If you stay I'll remember you when I become really powerful".

- Entering with three Jedi and announcing: "You are under arrest", like if he didn't already know Palpatine was a man of influence.

- Showing anger during the fight.

- Having the "heck, now there is an eye witness!" face when Anakin appeared.

- Choosing to kill Palpatine eitherway.

At this point, when Palpatine is burning his face with his own electricity to avoid being killed, Anakin does not have "pure good" vs "pure evil" in front of him, but the relative morality Palpatine was telling him about. Two half truths is what he sees; both were evil, which makes Anakin's choice more rational.

Now, some of you are saying that George Lucas did not say anything about that, therefore it's not official, well. I have two things to say:

1) Characters sometimes escape the author's intention to become something else. See Han Solo, for example. He was an independent greedy guy... and someone who did not hesitate in killing in cold blood to protect his integrity. Later on, George Lucas realized the character was a little bit different of what he intended and wanted to change it but it was too late, for he already belongs to the fans.

2) Sometimes the author of a story wont tell you his future plans, and if you are guessing, he is capable of denying the whole thing. An example of this would be J. J. Abrahams with the second Star Trek villain. We know George was interested in using Mace Windu in the future, and now we know there is this spin off.

People, don't be so quick at disregarding this analysis. Go see the movie. Even the laser saber matches the story, and you cannot tell for sure if the color was intended before hand and the story you have of S.L.J  demanding a pink saber was just a cover. Didn't Samuel J. say there was a secret in Ep3?

Mace Windu was the second man in the Jedi council and Yoda was very old. Windu went to Palpatine claiming he was going to arrest him (maybe because he was with two fellow Jedi?), but doubted when he saw Anakin and attempted to kill Palpatine, like: "Heck, an eye witness!".

At this point you might ask yourself: "Why did he go there with 3 Jedi if he wanted to kill Palpatine?" My answer is that the Jedi he took with him were killed in less than 5 seconds. Arguably they were not very good at fighting and were picked for that very reason. "Okay, but why killing Palpatine?" You might ask. Well, if Palpatine would have died, the Republic would need a new leader, and if we are to take Palpatine's reasoning that the Jedi were similar to the Sith in their desire for power, we could reason Windu had certain dreams of ruling the galaxy and the Jedi council.

Killing a dictator would totally give him a lot of support from everywhere, Jedi and politicians alike. He could have announced that the Jedi were going to take temporary control over the Senate to ensure the end of the war and a peaceful transition, so there is little to no doubt that taking Palpatine out of the way would have been tremendously possitive for him, and he knew it.

This can be infered when Windu says to Anakin "if what you told me is true, then you'd earn my entire confidence", like making promises in advance and not wanting Anakin as a witness (I don't think he could suspice Anaking would be capable of turning against him, but rather that Anakin was a very powerful Jedi).

I mean, did he really changed his mind from taking Palpatine as a prisoner to execute him during the fight? His reasoning was that Palpatine had "many contacts"... nothing new or unusual at all that could justify his last minute change of mind.

Finally, it is not only the pink sword (search for it's significance over the internet) or the look he gives Anakin when he sees him, but also the angry face he shows on a scene when fighting Palpatine and the fact that he beheaded Jango in Ep2.

So, what do you guys think? Is there reasonable doubt here? Could the Jedi council be "clouded by the dark side"? I heard the first "side movie" is going to be about Mace Windu, so I guess we might find out the truth in about two years or so...
