I’ve been waiting a while for a spider man 2 print, now we just need a spider man 3 print!
Are there any updates on this project?
A 35mm print of Night At The Museum is on eBay so people can buy it and hopefully scan it
It has come to my attention that there are currently two film prints seemingly no one has talked about.
The prints are as followed
35mm prints of me, myself, and Irene
And a 16mm rocky print
And a 35mm print of Brave (ends tomorrow)
Now’s your chance to get them before they’re gone and preserve them.
Update: both the brave 35mm and the 16mm rocky print are sold, but the Me, myself, and irene print is still up and i found the entirety of silence of mthe lambs in 35mm

when you say “prints” - are buying literal physical film reels and watching them? If so, what is your setup for that?
or just downloading copies of different releases?
I mean downloading the movies.
I have not been able to get in contact with ZigZig about getting this preservation, if anyone can PM me, that would be greatly appreciated.
Here’s my opinion on all the preservations i’ve got my hands on so far
Star wars episode I: the phantom menace Czech print: very well kept print with little to no fade, but I don’t really like how it’s a Czech print so the crawl and alien text are in Czech, overall pretty good
Star wars attack of the clones 35mm print: I like that it’s finally in English but it’s a little unnecessary considering only a few sequences were swapped.
Revenge of the sith Spanish print: like the TPM print, I don’t really like that it’s in Spanish, but at least it has an English audio track.
There’s lots of others I’ve gotten which I have yet to watch but I will review those once I watch them.
Why is the only shot, even in the special editions, that hasn’t been degrained the shot of the escape pod leaving the tantive IV?
Technically it stopped being called that in 2000 by Lucas. But yes there are 4 versions.
1997 35mm, laserdisc, VHS
2004 DVD and HDTV broadcast
2011 blu-ray
2019 Disney plus streaming/2020 UHDAlso 2k DCP of the 2011 version and 4K DCP of the 2020 version for theatrical exhibition.
What are the differences between them
1997 has early cgi jabba, 2004 added updated CGI jabba and thicker lightsabers, 2011 added aunt beru saying “tell your uncle” instead of “tell uncle”, and 2019 added greedo saying maclunkey and new color grades.
I love the scene with Vader throwing palpatine off into the reactor shaft, just without Vader yelling no.
James earl jones as the voice of Darth Vader.
Dave Filoni once compared Luke’s mental state at the end of RotJ to Frodo’s mental state at the end of LOTR. Frodo was deeply scarred by his experiences and was never able to readjust to normal life. He grew distant from his fellow hobbits and was haunted by his trauma until he left Middle-earth altogether.
I’ve personally never interpreted Luke’s character in the same way. If there’s one trait Luke was shown to have in the OT, it was a remarkable ability to bounce back from trauma. He lost his aunt and uncle, and then his father figure, and then his best friend, and then found out his father was the 2nd most evil man in the galaxy. And he still made it through all that with his friends’ help, and ended the trilogy with a smile on his face.
I think the disagreement over Luke’s character stems from differing interpretations of Luke’s emotional state at the end of RotJ. Is he weary of the world and just putting on a happy face for his friends, or is he looking forward to the future, with the best part of his life still in front of him?
I always believed that, having confronted and reconciled with his father, and having faced the darkness within himself, Luke was finally free to look forward to the future and have a fresh start along with the rest of the galaxy. He’d still struggle with the Dark Side, but he’d be less haunted than before, rather than more haunted.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree with Filoni’s comparison?
I get your observation and I do see a little similarity but they both have their differences.
I feel like it should’ve been Sebastian Shaw but as the last time we see Anakin because he turns back to the light side and dies right after.
Unpopular opinion: obi-wan slashing the alien’s arm off, it’s the first time we see a lightsaber in action.
I would’ve wanted to buy it if I had the money but I don’t.
They only did it so han didn’t seem as more of a cold hearted killer (which I personally think matches his personality perfectly).
I wish I was at BFI at the time of the screening.
I feel like the scene is damaged beyond repair considering how grainy and dirty and low quality it is.
I don’t believe that. It could be cleaned up, using a better source - and some real effort.
While that is true, I think the audio is in too bad of shape to remaster.
I don’t think it worked for me

It finally works now!
Wow dude, you’re like a vendor of star wars movies!
I don’t think it worked for me

‘Disney’s streaming service won’t include Star Wars movies released before 2019’…

‘Disney’s streaming service won’t have many of the recent Star Wars and Marvel movies’…

A saturated streaming market already (all adding up $/£-wise) - and without the main films I’ll likely be giving Disney’s forthcoming streaming service a miss.
It’s crazy that a company that solely focuses on getting money is throwing it away by not bringing newer star wars movies to the platform.
