Yeah, the main shot of the castle fly-by should be when the audience focuses on the castle, and then by the time Kylo is holding the wayfinder, the focus should be on him.
So blur sounds better, especially since it will look more natural. But we can’t know without seeing them yet lol
I like the Ajan Kloss battlefront shot simply because it gives us an idea of the size of the base. In the film the base has no sense of scale, it’s just a bunch of disconnected areas. A simple shot like this one gives us an idea of they bases size and position.
Agreed, this shot would help a lot if it could look legit.
Also, the Vader’s castle fly-by work is going great- is anyone still trying to add the castle into the background when Kylo holds up the wayfinder, or was that ever finished?
Agreed completely, until the training flashback it’s just a random jungle and even then there’s still no actual sense of setting if that makes sense.

Apparently I missed this. Great work! Much better than the original, I was very frustrated by the over usage of the Force theme in the movie.

If they really wanted to go the route of using her masters’ sabers, I wish they would’ve just gone with Luke’s green saber and a purple saber for Leia. But then again my real preference would’ve been turning Anakin’s broken saber into a double-bladed one since the kyber crystal was split into two pieces and Rey grew up fighting with a staff
A couple of other tiny thoughts I had while looking at the Death Star fight. The added shot of Leia holding the medal - would it be possible to add some of that bright white backlight color into the shot? Right now, the colors feel a little off between the Medal insert and the Leia silhouette shot. It’s just a small little thing, but it might help to incorporate the shot better into the scene.
The other thing is, would it make the scene flow better if Leia says “Ben…” before we see her, and then Kylo stops fighting, turns, “sees her” - as if he’s stopping fighting because he hears her voice and senses her presence. The way it is in V1 (and the original cut) is that Ben stops short, Leia appears, then says his name, and then he looks over at her. There’s a split second where the audience is thinking “Wait, why the heck is he stopping?” Rather than “Oh! Was that Leia’s voice?” The scene still makes sense as is, I just wonder if it might flow a little more cleanly. What do you guys think?

I don’t know what trilogy you watched then haha. Nearly every scene they have together is very intimate, but of course in the wrong way because Kylo is evil. Thus why Rey says in TROS: “I did want to take your hand. Ben’s hand.”
Nailed it. Their romance is visible throughout the entire trilogy, right from the start when Kylo bridal carries her on Takodana.

Yeah, Obi-Wan intentionally misled Luke, and it’s addressed.
TRoS presents Luke as spending years searching for Exegol and the Wayfinders. It doesn’t frame it as the Force Ghosts lied to him about where they were, it doesn’t frame it as anything other than a man looked everywhere and asked everyone… except the one person who knew, who he uniquely could communicate with.
It becomes a plot hole because we’re told a character exerted himself, almost desperately, to find something without trying the most basic thing that would also have worked. Like, did Luke get bitter with his father’s redeemed spirit?
Maybe, if it’s not a plot hole, we can at least agree it’s an unnecessarily stupid plot contrivance setting up the videogame-style trading sequence of multiple MacGuffins that we have instead of a story.
Do we have any evidence that Anakin manifested as a force ghost ever again after Endor? Yes we hear his voice on Exegol but that could literally be the first time he’s made contact in that way since ROTJ.

The specific part I’m talking about reads: “Their spirits guided me for many years but vanished when I shut myself off from the Force.” So technically no direct confirmation that Anakin physically manifested again, but it feels heavily implied to me.
I’ll throw in my attempt to put the TROS trailer music into the scene where the Final Order fleet is destroyed. It’s pretty rough but I’m new to video editing so I’m planning on working on it again. The biggest issue is trying to make it fade out? I couldn’t figure out how to so I made a bunch of cuts and slightly lowered each’s volume which made it kinda choppy as it fades.
But I think it’s an amazing piece of music that was sadly unused in the film, and the original scene’s music didn’t work at all. The movie already overuses the Force theme, and man it does not fit well for this scene, nor does it have any meaning for it.
Fair point. Honestly, I just don’t worry about Force ghost knowledge, they create so many technical plot holes lol. I think you just have to accept them as conduits of the Force that are used to guide light side users as the Force wills it
FWIW the current ongoing Vader comic is addressing this issue right now, with Vader obtaining his Wayfinder and heading to Exegol. How exactly is it patching up this hole? We don’t know yet, but that’s what the current arc is focused on

Just learned that Christopher Sean (the voice actor for Kaz in Resistance) has a Cameo account where you can pay $30 for him to record any video/message. Given that his ship and a few others from the show were created for TROS but unused and the novelization included him along with a line of dialogue, would anyone be interested in group-funding him to record the line for the edit? Inferno Squad was included so I figure there will also be interest in this. The novelization goes:
“Zay Versio with Inferno Squad, standing by. Look at all these ships!”
“Fireball, here. Hi everyone!”
“Cut the chatter, Kaz,” a deep voice responded.Given how short the line is I’m not sure if enough people would be interested in chipping in a bit so maybe the line could also be spliced together from show dialogue? Along with Yeager’s line in response.

Those lines actually were recorded, using impersonators. They were just buried deep in the audio mix to avoid standing out from the rest of the fleet dialogue.
Never got an answer to this back in August- are the impersonator Resistance voice lines and Inferno Squad voice lines available to use? I’d like to make the Resistance one audible in my version, as well as feature the Infero Squad one more prominently.
Had that exact same idea for the force world clip last night, I’m sure someone could do it better but it would definitely be cool to see something like this.

And I thought it was pretty clear in the original film that Leia used Force projection to send the vision of Kylo’s memory of Han to him- she has Han’s medal in her hand when she does it, and then she dies from the effort. Plus Maz says that “to reach her son now will take all the strength she has left”.

With Ben to the left of Luke & Leia and Anakin on the right. I asked jonh about it back in September and he said he would add Anakin eventually, but then recently he said in the TROS: Ascendant thread that he didn’t want to do it anymore.
Would anyone else be able to do this? I wish I could but I don’t know how to, and I’d love to see the Skywalker saga end on the entire family together, “adopting” Rey to carry on their name and legacy.
