Well he has spoken out against the resulting film versions of TPM and AOTC. But I wonder if that's just PR propagandizing because he always follows each gripe with praise for the upcoming film. And each gripe is timed just a few months before the release of the next film. Go fig, eh?

Yes, but the majority of these tend to occur 20 years later.

For the most part, he's usually in a hurry to get the shooting over with and get to the editing room.

I like the first line. Good stuff.

And, yes, he tends to hurry, but he has been known to reshoot what he can't digitally alter in said editing room. And he's also known for correcting mistakes made by doing so in an editing room. Maybe if he rushed less and paid attention to detail more (say like Peter Jackson during the LOTR shoots), we'd have better quality movies. I can't slag ROTS as it hasn't come out yet. But I can definitely slag TPM and even parts of AOTC which I liked a lot more.

True. But who could've pulled it off? I can't think of anybody but Chiklis, but, like I said, he wasn't a name then and probably wasn't even a consideration. And if you say that they should CG an actor to look as big as he needs to be, I'm gonna smack you one. That's just what that movie needed was some CG-enhanced actors to make it even worse. Affleck fighting against a CG-enhanced Kingpin. Oh, that would just be great. He's already a pretty bad actor and now you want him to fight a blue screen?

Okay, I can agree with that. However, if there are foul ups, it's the responsibility of the director to call them on it and then have it fixed. We all know what a self-proclaimed "perfectionist" GL claims to be. We all know he demands numerous reshoots. In my mind, this is GL calling his cast and crew on foul ups and directing them to do a better job (at least, a "better job" in his mind). So, the resulting movies are his best effort at directing a cast and crew of hundreds, maybe even thousands, to produce the end result he so desires. If these are his "end results," then it's obvious his directing is lacking.

I don't know that I necessarily consider race changes to always be an example of PC gone awry. Some may be, yes. But not all. In the case of Michael Clarke Duncan in Daredevil, I don't think there's a white actor who could have embodied the role as well as Duncan did. The only one who would have come close might have been Michael Chiklis but I think casting was complete before Chiklis really came on peoples' radars for The Shield (that is his show, right?).

Hell, Ray Parks isn't a Shakespearian thespian, and yet he was five hundred times better in TPM than all MTV-made "stars" are in any film they infect.

I don't think any of them were particularly good, to be honest. All of them were restrained from other acting roles I've seen them in. No, not all of them are great actors. But this is far from a good acting gig. Not a single acting job was up to any snuff in my book. Hence why I blame Lucas. And, yes, I will continue to blame him because I think it's his fault. DEAL WITH IT.

From the Digital Bits...

Buena Vista has announced a slate of five films in UMD format for playback on Sony's handheld PSP game system. The titles include National Treasure, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Reign of Fire, Kill Bill, Vol. 1 and HERO. Specific release dates are unavailable, other than that they're expected this spring. Additional UMD/PSP titles will likely be announced by the studio later in the year.

2 million? I was told it was 1.1 million. 1 million for her as the winner and 100K for him as the runner up. Maybe there's been more due to appearances and stuff like that, but they only won 1.1 million.

It's not lame. I think it adds a whole new dimension to the game because now everybody is not trying to win so much as just try to beat Rob and Amber. Also, I love how Rob schemes. He's a genius schemer.
