And, yes, a roadtrip is in order. I'm drivin'. Good thing we tagged Shimmy when we were making the molds for the puzzles. Hunt him like the animal he is.

I would be afraid of how heated those threads might get. I'll stay away. A bunch of my old high school friends and I started some pretty heavy political debating a few months back and we're still trying to completely mend it all up afterwards. Debating outside a heavily moderated, politically oriented forum is not a good idea. I don't think Jay has the time nor will power to break that up.

Sweet Gundark! Thanks.

JM and Windexed, I agree that I much prefer Amazon Marketplace. I buy from them all the time. I like that it's all protected by Amazon and they can suspend payment if the shipment doesn't arrive and whatnot. It's a beautiful thing. The only thing that makes it lack is that the only stuff you can sell in the marketplace is stuff that Amazon sells in its e-retail center. No rarities or special or discontinued items. So, for that stuff, you have to go hunting in eBay or elsewhere.

I haven't purchased anything from eBay since about 1998-99 when I was going on an Atari binge. I bought a used 2600 system and a bunch of games. I was hooked on eBay and uBid (I think that's what it was called). But everything was money order. Maybe if there is something I just can't live without, I will start to look on eBay.

Harry Potter (no spoilers!)

It is true that it is a far cry from the first two. My feeling is that the first two were far too cartoony and "feel good" to be a true wizard story. I always imagined HP to be a darker story as I read the books. I was disappointed by Chris Columbus' treatment of the story in terms of mood and appearance. The casting was spectacular, but otherwise. Cuaron captured what I had been imagining all along. Same goes for my wife. She loved the third one.

Speaking of the third one, when's it come out on DVD?

No, no, no. It's LONNE. There's no "I" in it according to him.

Shame about the Toonie. I was hoping it had Bugs Bunny on it.

I live in Chicago. I'm not from Chicago. I was born in New York and became a Yankee's fan while living in Connecticut. In Connecticut, you have a choice of rooting for the Mets, Red Sox, and Yankees. Yanks were the biggest underdog at the time of the three teams (1985) and I really dug on a certain firstbaseman named Don Mattingly. Still think the guy was one of the greats of the 80s and early 90s. Carried that love of the Yankees with me out here to Chicagoland. As years went on and the Yanks got better and better, everybody became a fan. It became a bit too much when I was being accused of being a bandwagoneer despite being a fan since '85 (it takes quite a bit of time to explain it to them, then there's always the question of whether they'll believe you... I gave up). But I attribute most of my disgust towards the Yanks when they started pillaging the majors for their team instead of their own farm system and also to the time when I saw my first pink Yankees hat. That was just too much.

And here's another reference to it as the Loonie... Discount Currency Exchange.

When I google "lonnie", I don't get currency sites. Even when I google "Canadian Lonnie" I don't. I got one that had that spelling in it, but when I clicked on the link, I got the spelling in the above link.

So, I'm not sure which to believe right now... the World Wide Web or somebody who lives there. Help? If you are right, Shimraa, I apologize. But the preponderance of truth, so far as I can tell, is on my side.

I heard it when I was living in Kentucky so I'm used to hearing it. Doesn't mean I like it. Bugs me to no end. But there are so many instances of words that are chronically mispronounced, so I guess I should be used to it.

I wonder why it's mostly older people that pronounce it that way? Now that I think about it, I would have to agree with Chaltab on that observation.

Not that Rebecca Romijn (do the girl a favor and lose the Stamos; she's on the verge of doing that herself) is anything to scoff at. I dig her. Even in blue scales, I dig her. But there wasn't a single outfit worn by Garner in that movie in which she did not just look deadly sexy.

And, yes Chaltab, my wife knows I like Garner intensely. My wife has a thing for Garner's ex-husband (Scott Foley). You should have heard the jokes we were throwing back and forth the day they announced their separation.

First, I only post this because I have a few friends on this board who are Canadian and I know they will likely find this hilarious. I am not anti-Canadian at all. In fact, just the opposite. But I found these hilarious all the same.
