Um, Lethe, did you look at the date on my link? It said that a lunar eclipse is coming up on Wednesday, October 27. That was last night. The article was dated Oct. 1, 2004. Last year's October 27 was a Monday. The corresponding Wednesday was October 29. It referred to last year's eclipse only in that we're being treated to two lunar eclipses in a year's time.
Okay, maybe lunar eclipses aren't "extremely" rare. But it's still rare enough in that it happens once every 720+ days by your recollection. And I still consider it rare in that you cannot always see it from every place on Earth, either. So while a part of one hemisphere may be able to enjoy, a big chunk of the remainder of the planet cannot. And, you've gotta admit, that even rarer is the fact that it was going to happen the night that the Sox could win the series. If that's not the stars aligning themselves, then nothing is.
Oh, and it doesn't really matter anymore anyway as the SOX HAVE WON IT!!!!

I work at an NCAA D-III school and we've got a pretty solid athletics program. We've got a very well-respected baseball team as well as women's soccer, football (sometimes), and men's basketball.

See? Now you're thinking like a marketing executive! Warner needs to give you a call.

Now I'll bite. Here's another midwesterner since we're on a theme...
You know what the Midwest is? Young & Restless
Where restless Niggaz might snatch your necklace
And next these Niggaz might jack your Lexus

Bear in mind that tonight is a lunar eclipse. A very rare event indeed. So, pair that with a Red Sox win and you've got a helluva memorable evening.
GO SOX!

Sounds like us Cubs fans. No stadium gets filled quite like Wrigley. And to think that it happens 81 times in a season. That's pretty impressive. Lethe, you gotta admit that most NFL stadiums will come close to capacity regardless of how a team is doing simply due to the fact that the NFL plays so few games that people want to go. Okay, not all teams have this blessing or the Browns wouldn't have moved from Cleveland the first go round. But it does happen in a majority of stadiums. Hell, Soldier is jammed each week despite our pitiful playing. When I was there two Sundays ago, there wasn't an empty seat in the house. We suck.
Warbler, if it makes you feel any better, I'm kinda pulling for the Eagles to do well this season since the Bears have pretty much dished up all their games to opponents on silver platters. I guess it's because McNabb is a Chicago boy. Dammit. Gotta support them Chicagoans regardless of who they play for.

Whoops. Meant "Ashmore as Olson". My bad.
As for sequel, I'm not sure if it will be or not. Look at the age of Routh. The kid is 19 years old. I don't see how it can be a sequel. I think they might tackle early or lost years. Not follow-up years. Might be similar to the new Batman movie in its relative chronology.

Funny sight I wish I had a picture of is a Taco Bell back in my college town that, once you've pulled around and placed your order, you wind up at the drive-thru window via the passenger side of your car. What do you do if you have no passenger? Some planning, eh? Not necessarily an engineer's fault here. More like a piss-poor architect, but I blamed it on engineering graduates from my school just to spite them.

Somehow, it just seems appropriate that the Bears become interested in a QB the Packers cut.
I have no idea how strong they are. Haven't heard too much rumbling about it amongst my Bears obsessed fans. Will check the Bears' site.
Just checked. Apparently they are not interested in him at all. Check it out.
