Episode III Teaser Trailer
Time
Well, for anyone interested, the trailer did not show when I saw The Incredibles this past Friday. Maybe it was the time of day and they're only going to show it at the later showings of the film. My wife and I went to a 1ish showing. Lots of little kids so that might be why. But, for some reason, I think The Incredibles is going to have lots of kids at almost all showings. Even late night considering how ignorant so many parents are these days.

As I recall, Vasquez's buddy was Drake. Who, BTW, was played by Mark Rolston who played Boggs in The Shawshank Redemption. So, effectively, he went from f#$king up aliens to f#$king fellow prisoners before getting f#$ked himself by Captain Hadley (Clancy Brown) who, as the Kurgan, got f#$ked up by the Highlander, Connor McLeod (Christopher Lambert). Whole lotta f#$kin' goin' on.

Yeah, I just turned all that into a pretty messed-up Six Degrees of Separation, didn't I?

Sorry.

It wasn't a Redskins curse so much as a Redskins predictor of the outcome. There was also a Red Sox predictor. In a nutshell...

Since 1936, whenever the Redskins won their game just before a presidential election, the incumbent party would win the presidency. If they lost, the challenging party would win. It was absolutely true, too. Until this year. The Packers beat the Redskins, but Kerry (the challenger) still lost. Oh well.

For the Red Sox, whenever they have played in a World Series that has fallen during a presidential election year, the Red Sox winning has predicted failure for the incumbent party in the election. Alas, this also proved false this year. This has only been the case three times in the past with the last one being something like 1912 or 1916. The Skins predictor has been valid every election since 1936. Pretty good odds that were, obviously, defied this time around.

I think I stood in line to vote all of about three minutes. Filled out my punchcard (so archaic!), made sure all the chad was gone, turned it in, got my "I Voted!" sticker, and left. In all, about five minutes out of my life. I really don't see why more people don't vote. It's always been one of the easiest and quickest things I've ever had to do. Then again, there is that girl who waited nine hours in Ohio to vote. That might discourage me, too. No, I'd still vote. I'd just take my iPod and a book.

I would have to agree with Faid. Zach-braff.com (yes, the actor's own site) is primarily a blog that also hosts photographs and whatnot. I doubt there's ever been a need for excessive bandwidth on the site. When it's easily found as one of the sites hosting the long-awaited teaser trailer to the final SW movie ever (hopefully), the demand suddenly increases exponentially. I'm sure you'll see Zach fix things up with his provider right quick as he's a big user of his own site and loves it dearly and will also probably remove the trailer so it doesn't happen again. LFL does not have the legal right to shut down sites. They can threaten legal action, but they cannot go in and shut things down. I'm ready to guarantee it exceeded bandwidth.

Luckily, I got the trailer from the site before it went down.

No. It will work with Dayv, because he was non-shimraaesque to begin with. So jarring his head a little will shake loose the effect of Shimitis. Shimraa started that way and if you don't have a "normal" standard to return to, you can't be freed from the hellish mental prison that Shimitis has been known to cause in scores of lab rats the world over.

MP-5... nice choice. As for the 16, take it back. It jams too often. Go with the AR-15. Pretty much the exact same rifle but it's more reliable. Or, since you seem to like grenade launchers, you can go for an M-203 variant. Usually an M-203 is an M-16 with an underside grenade launcher (see Schwarzenegger's assault rifle in Predator), but they also make a grenade launcher variety of an AR-15.

It is the curse of the goat. Billy Goat to be more precise. A guy who was a fan of the Cubs who used to walk everywhere with his billy goat tried to take the goat into Wrigley Field. Mr. Wrigley said no. The goat man said that the Cubs will be cursed as a result of their owner's stubbornness. So far, it has stuck.

The Black Sox refers to the White Sox scandal of 1919. Eight players conspired with gangsters to throw the World Series and they did indeed lose it. The eight players, dubbed the Black Sox because they gave the sport of baseball and the team a "black eye", were banned from baseball forever. "Shoeless" Joe Jackson (played by Ray Liotta in Field of Dreams and D.B. Sweeney in Eight Men Out) was one also blamed and he had agreed to go along with the plan. However, he backed out at the last minute and had the series of a lifetime with some spectacular postseason statistics. However he was still banned from baseball for life by the then-commissioner, I believe, Kenesaw Mountain Landis (someone correct me if I got the name wrong). None of them can even get into the Baseball Hall of Fame as a result.

If you want to learn more about the Black Sox, check out Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner or, preferably, Eight Men Out with Charlie Sheen, D.B. Sweeney, and David Strathairn. Field has some good information about the Sox and what happened while EMO is all about what actually happened.

Nah. Not really a stigma resulting from it as the scandal happened in the 1919 series and they hadn't won since 1917. I wouldn't call that the reason behind it. Honestly, the scandal was just sheer stupidity on the part of those involved and on the part of the commissioner who was a jackass. Banning Shoeless Joe for life while putting up those stats. Yeah, he was certainly involved, wasn't he?

Do you believe in ghosts?
Time
There is no "believe" involved here. IT IS. There is no question about it. If anything, you're supposed to come here and say, "Bossk, you asshole. I jumped out of my seat and had to change my underwear after watching that video. You're a jackass!" Which is what so many of my friends and coworkers are saying to me now. When you say "you believe it to be fake" that makes it sound like you're giving it some semblance of credence or validity. That is why we questioned if you actually watched it because anybody who watches it knows... that's all there is to it.

I shudder to think of the horrors and atrocities that now are an inevitability to come from the White House. What the hell's Bush gonna care, he no longer needs to ever worry about re-election. He can do whatever the hell he wants and likely get away with it. After all, he also has a Republican Congress in place to vote through all his resolutions.

To quote Dave Mustaine of Megadeth in his song "Symphony of Destruction" (a very a propos song right about now)

"You take a mortal man and put him in control.
Watch him become a God. Watch people's heads a roll."

Wow, I never heard it stated so simply yet so effectively. That really is a great way to think of it, isn't it?
