Hitchhiker's Guide trailer online
Time
Well, here's the cast list. Pretty good mix of U.S. and Brit. But some might pull off accents pretty well. Who knows?

Martin Freeman (Arthur Dent), Mos Def (Ford Prefect), Zooey Deschanel (Trillian), Bill Nighy (Slartibartfast), Sam Rockwell (Zaphod Beeblebrox), Warwick Davis (Marvin the Paranoid Robot), John Malkovich (Humma Kavula), Steve Pemberton (Mr. Prosser); other cast not announced yet.

Hypocrisy of us at OT fans wanting preservations - but also editing the PT
Time
I can understand how some people might, on first inspection, look at us as hypocrites. However, when you think about the fact that all we want is something that is already in existence and is being denied to us, then I think it is easy to renounce the "hypocrite" claim.

In all honesty, I think Lucas could join the hypocrite list. Just look at the quote on the homepage of this site regarding his views on preserving the Three Stooges films. Funny, eh?

It's Friday
Time
Well, it's Tuesday now and I missed out on this thread when it was truly valid. So, here's my weekend recap. I took Thurs, Fri, and Mon off and worked my other job for added pay. Nice to double dip. The rest of the time, I tried to recover from having been awake at 4:30 in the morning to open at this other job at 5:30. Not fun.

By the way, since we're killing the Gender thread, I'll say "welcome" to DMirax here. Howdy!

Somebody else mentioned in another thread that Ric was a girl and, when I asked another person via PM, they confirmed it. Maybe this is completely wrong, but the mention of Ric being a girl in this thread is the second time I've seen it on this site in as many months. I'm thinking either there was no typo and Ric is a "she" or there is some conspiracy afoot to throw all us OT'ers off base.

Me, I always assumed Ric was a "he" because in the thread about our forum names, Ric said that the Ric in Ricarleite was his/her first name. I immediately thought "Ricardo" seeing as how Ric is from Brazil. But we all know what happens when you assume, right?

Jokes thread : Reloaded

I've got a friend who has had three companies in New Zealand express interest in his resume. He wants out and it's either Australia or New Zealand. He's the friend who works for Boeing contracted out to NASA. Nice recommendations, eh?

As for "Blame Canada"... isn't that the national anthem up there?

ROTJ is worse than I remember.
Time
I did take some time off of ROTJ and it hasn't regained any magic. If anything, it lost more. You gotta remember that this is comparing now to how we felt about it as children. To me, ANH and ESB gained more magic as I got older. ROTJ still lost it.

Oddly, I, too, am on Braveheart sabbatical. Haven't seen it in at least four years. Been meaning to watch it again.
