Do you really think this is going to happen? It’s been fucking decades. If they thought it was a viable business opportunity they would have done it years ago. They aren’t gonna release an old version for a load of middle aged folk reminiscing. They’d rather spend cash on churning loads of utter crap out.

If you aren’t going to contribute anything positive, then kindly show yourself out.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - FanEdit Ideas <strong><em>SPOILERS</em></strong>
Time

I think the opening of the film was unsettling, looked a bit amateur, I mean who directed it Tarantino? thw film still lacked the fantasy and mythological element that I now truely believe was brought by Henson. Multi strand narrative fail, it needed to have a beginning, middle and end. It was all over the shop in terms of narrative structure, and I did disengage a few times, too much repetition. It needs someone to get hold of that footage and re edit it for sure. A great film crying to come out but either rushed or capitalised. However, I was surprised , this was the only film I haven’t followed after the disappointment of the the last 4 , I did have a few moments where it reminded me of ESB.

I can’t attest to the quality of the films as I have never seen it but I can say it was forgettable. By the time 6 months had passed gone the conversations were. Consumed by The Dark Knight.

Say what you will about TFA but for good or for bad we’re still talking about the film.

Well it’s not like we’re on originaltrilogy.com

I liked Avatar and TFA, so you’re all wrong.

ftfy…this site has become a prequel loving fan club

Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **

Star Wars concept artist Ian McCaig recently spoke at the Art and Industry of Imagination conference. He spilled some beans on the Han Solo film:

Lawrence Kasdan actually wrote the script for Han Solo before he began work on VII, and that it is (paraphrasing) ‘By far the best Star Wars script, and one of the best scripts period, that I have ever read. I laughed, I cried, I did all the things you should do when reading a good script. You’re in for a treat.’

Last time I heard those lines, it was someone talking about how the Emperor became the Emperor because a woman broke his heart.

They’ve said every new Star Wars film was going to be the best script, the darkest and you’re in for a treat. I cannot believe these lies anymore!

I’ve mentioned this before but it is the attention to detail for the aesthetic that I love the most. I had the opportunity at a New Years party to meet the guy who was hired to create all the starfields for the movie. He talked to me about how they wanted him to do it in a relatively short amount of time and he begged for more so he could have time to do it right. He painstakingly painted in every star trying to match the look of the starfields in SW. And that effort was not wasted because the first time I saw the movie I looked at the starfield in the opening crawl and my first thought was “it looks like a slightly more blue despecialized starfield.”

It’s that dedication and attention to detail that’s present throughout the movie that I love. I mean, this guy could have created a perfectly fine starfield in a couple minutes for each shot just using some tools in photoshop or after effects or something, but you can tell everyone involved in the movie has a deep love for Star Wars and wanted to do it right.

Sure, the story is a bit re-hashy and all, but I’d take that over a film made by people just phoning in their work any day.

Beautiful analysis DL. Have u checked out “Secrets of the Force Awakens” doc yet? It totally shows you even more the dedication and love put into the film.

for all the love and passion put into this film it’s such a shame the end product was so mediocre and forgettable!

Thank you for giving us your bi/tri-monthly dose of TFA hate. Now please do what you always do and fall off the face of the board so that we may revel your absence. Thank you.

Thanks for the warm welcome

I too highly doubt the production is in trouble. But I would be disappointed if the reason for the reshoots is to make it less of a “gritty” war movie and add more of the Star Wars “magic” of the episodic films. It would be interesting to experience a film of a different tone in the SW universe, and what better way to explore that than through a tangential plot line that’s not essential to the saga. It would be a shame if they passed on that opportunity.

That’s what gets me.

The spinoffs are an opportunity to explore different directorial styles. It lets different directors do what they do best in terms of tone. They’re a chance to make simply good movies set in the Star Wars galaxy.

Maybe and hopefully the idea is to leave the director’s signature style but not let it stray too far from the galaxy as opposed to stifling creative.

Frankly I like the notion of a film in the SW galaxy with a horror film tone or a western motif or a cop buddy flick or a drama.

Star wars and zombies yeah that would be great!

He’s referring to Jeremy Clarkson, also known as “Jezza”, a presenter on a British motoring show called Top Gear.

A “popular” “radio host” named Chris Evans (not Captain America) took over his presenter role once Jeremy was sacked for punching a producer over a food-related incident and the rest of the team (Richard Hammond and James May) left as a consequence.

Edit: Filthy Millennials.

The new star wars film fucking sucks.
