Any Star Wars TV stuff coming up?

Still didn't get the point of 'Bring back Star Wars'? It's been non stop Star Wars for years now.

Did you see the program? It's more about getting the cast in the same room together for the first time since they went their seperate ways. They did the same with the A-Team and Dynasty to varying degrees of success. Its also about Justin Lee Collins who presents it and has endless enthusiasm for each subject and how he wangles his way into getting interview with the stars - I mean who else do you know that could knock on Carrie Fisher's door with a camera crew and get an instant interview? If you watch it in the spirit intended its a lt of fun.

Yup - saw this last night - was really funny. I thought Carrie Fisher would go apeshit when they went up to her house but she was really cool (clealy had too many chemicals over the years and looks on the edge of insanity but really cool). Mark Hamill asking for £50k really cheapened himself, Anthony Daniels came across as a bit of a tosser but the rest were all really cool - Warrick Davies IS possibly the world's nicest bloke after that interview and Billy Dee Williams is still the coolest pimp in the galaxy. Did you see Peter Mayhew giving the finger at the end? Good stuff! And Kenny Baker shops at Morrissons in Preston? Thats just down the road so I'll be shopping there from now on!

"If you leave now, help them you could..."
Time
...er, it's like this...

"If you leave now, help them you could..." - this referes to Luke helping Han, Leia, Chewie etc to escape (at this point Han wasn't in carbonite)

"but you will you would destroy all for which they have fought and suffered." - Bassically Yoda didn't have confidence in Luke to beat Vader - he thought he'd be destroyed or become a Sith, either would be disastrous for the rebellion as Luke was the key to it's victory.

Essentially loosing Luke would be the undoing of the rebellion (evertything that Leia et all had fought and suffered for).

I think this is one of the best lines in the trilogy as it tells you to weigh up your actions - what might feel the right thing to do right now may not be the right thing to do when you consider the bigger picture. Yoda was suggesting Luke sacrifice his friends for the greater cause.

All about stratergy, self control and sacrifice...

Please tell me what is wrong with being a purist.

(And whether I'm wrong in getting the distinct impression you write the word with a sneer?)

..er there's nothing wrong with being a purist - I'm a purist.. 150% purist I want nothing more than an anomorphic 1977 release - dust, dirst scratches, garbage mattes, the lot, nothing more, nothing less...

...the reason I wrote purist in italics as there are people who consider themselves purists but wish for things like garbage matte removals etc - purist was being emphasised, not sneered at. Then again with the different audio and video releases in 1977 theres so many degrees of purists.

...in future if I use italics i'll forwarn you as to my intentions.

Audience reaction to the reveal?
Time
My memories of first seeing Empire go something like this...

...I was six...

...I'd never seen Star Wars when it first came out (in fact it would be a couple of years after Empire that I would) but I had loads of Star Wars figures and vehicles...

...I bugged and bugged my dad for weeks to take me to see it, and when the Schoolastic print of Empire Strikes Back came out (with the fold out Darth Vader poster!!!!!!) I bugged and bugged him even more...

...one day after tea he came in and said "Look what I've found, two tickets for The Empire Strikes Back - who could I take???"...

..."Take me! Take me! Dad take me!!!"...

...So we went to the Astra (local flea pit). I remember the short film before Empire - I think it was called The Black Angel (anyone remember it? anyone know if it's downloadable?) - Iremember thinking "Wow this is great"...

...the last thing I remember of that night is something about snow, just as I fell asleep about 25 minutes into the main feature...

...idiot...solo

What did the Prequel Trilogy need?
Time
Lots of good ideas on Obi-Wan's and Anakin's introduction in the 'alternative prequels' in here...

...got me thinking about how i'd like to see them introduced...

...is there a place on this forum to post fan fiction? I've written a short intro to the two characters... Now i don't normally write fan fiction, this is my first go and I know how alot of it can make your stomach turn...
