Superman by Taolar (Formally: Son of Jorel) WORKPRINT AVAILABLE
Time

Doctor M said:

Are the versions identical, just different formats?  Because, yeah, usenet would be great (or Mega, or whatever).

The avi's come with a note at the beginning saying it's a pre-release and that some effects are incomplete. The DVD looks to be the finished article with menus and special features. I'll upload them both to usenet so people can check them both out.

Superman II - The Booshman Cut (Released)
Time
The amnesia kiss just wouldn't follow the dialogue in the Donner footage. Lois understands why they can't be together at the fortress and on the balcony. The whingy, selfish Lois of the amnesia kiss scene contradicts this.

As for Superman 3&4 I wouldn't know where to begin to put the two of them into a film that would work.

The DVD is being torrented at the moment, in PAL format. An NTSC version should be up within a few days!!

Superman II - The Booshman Cut (Released)
Time

Its PAL, 104 mins, single layer DVD with 5.1 audio.

Here’s the scene order:

Donner cut recap (with a few of the poorer effects shots of the PZ removed) and I cut straight from the PZ drifting in space to SM chasing the rocket.

Credits from STM intercut with Donner cut for a few credits + earth approach at the end.

Daily planet intro from Donner cut. No Lois jumping out the window.

Lex in prison from the donner cut

Moon sequence as in Donner cut with control room trimmed slightly.

Lex escapes from prison as in Donner cut.

Arrival at Niagra Falls as in Donner cut.

Lex in the fortress from the Donner cut. Cut from outside to “its fantastic”. Toilet joke also removed. Fade from Lex’s monologue about the villains into Lex Heads South deleted scene.

Niagra Falls rescue from Donner cut up till the boy falls then Lester for the superior music. A lot of trimmed dialogue also.

Villains land from Donner cut. “such a strange surface” line removed.

Lois jumps in the river. Some dialogue trimmed.

Ursa burns the snake. As in Donner cut but without her being bitten, she ust picks it up, throws it down and burns it.

Pink bear. Some dialogue trimmed.

East Houston cops face the villans from the Donner cut. “Holy skunk sweat” removed. Zod takes the gun of the cop a super speed, no floating gun.
Superman flies Lois to the FOS from Donner cut,

Superman shows Lois the green crystal. Lois’ reactions and bad dialogue trimmed.

East Housten battle from Donner cut.

Superman and lois have dinner. Lois’ bad dialogue trimmed again.

Zods “your lands” speech from donner cut, with fall of washington monument.

Depowering scene from Donner cut intercut with Lois reactions from Lester (recoloured where needed). Lois painted out for distance shots of Brando. Sound from Lester used during depowering leading into Lesters “just say you love me”.

Whitehouse attack from Donner cut. Bullet hits added. Lester sound used in the oval room. Ursa “ribbons” dialogue removed.

Dons Diner from Donner cut.

Lex makes deal with the villains. Starts with Lex at the door, dialogue of Zod being bored cut.

Repowering starts with lesters up until crystal is found where Lois left it, then Donner footage.

Villans attack the DP from Donner cut until SM turns up then Lester/ Donner Comination. “care to step outside” is used.

Metropolis battle. Donner/Lester Combo. Lester score restored in some places. Reaction shots are all Donner.

Villains go back to the DP as in Donner cut.

Villains fly to the FOS from Donner cut.

Villains enter the Fortress deleted scene. With bad effect replaced.

Villains in the fortress as in Donner cut with Lester score restored from the hand crush. Sweat patch also painted out.

Superman and Lois talk outside the FOS. Destruction of the FOS removed.

SM and Lois talk on the balcony as in the Donner cut.

Revenge on the Diner bully.

Flag scene. With fountain fixed.

Flyby and credits from Donner cut.

The deleted scenes I used have had as much dirt removed as possible and been recoloured .

Although Lois still realizes Clark is SM very early on,through the editing I have done she doesn’t give the game away too quick and it is SM arrival at Niagra Falls that gives her the confidence to bet her life on her hunch. I also think Lois nowing Supermans identity at the works very well.

Here’s the opening credits

and the depowering scene

here’s the depowering scene (smaller file size)

Phineasbg/ HIGHLANDER II: Extended Versions (Released)
Time
Good to hear that there has been a lot of progress on this project Mitch. Will there be a torrent?

It's a real shame about Superman, that was the project I have been looking forward to the most. DUNE????

Anyway, hopefully you'll get round to it eventually. I also wouldn't mind seeing what you did with Superman IV, you mentioned it a while ago.

I'd say you have plenty of interest in your projects by the way, this thread alone has been viewed nearly 1500 times.

The Lord of the Rings - Special Abridged Edition (Released)
Time
I just finished watching it and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was well edited and flowed really well. I also liked the use of the map overlays, although there were a couple of occasions when I don't really think it was that necessary. I think the pacing of the film is great, condsidering the amount of content that is missing, there weren't any bits that made me feel that a large portion of story had been missed.

I do think that the main title should be changed from the red writing, so that it just reads "special abridged edition" in white. I also think that the end credits would benefit from having the cast members that weren't in your cut simply edited out instead of the "missing" stamp. I feel that the red just stands out too much from the look and tone of the film.

Also the skipping on the Divx version is really noticable. I was aware of it throughout the entire film, and the missing frames make some of the CGI look like stop-frame animation. I hope your DVD version of the film doesn't suffer from this, it would be a shame for a good edit like this.

Superman 4 Recut Rough Cut (Released)
Time
I'd be very interested to see this. If you can send me a copy it'd be much appreciated! I'll gladly send you some feedback.

One cut I'd recommend is when Superman changes in the back of the car outside Lois' appartment. It needs editing properly so you don't see him coming back down after he jumps in the air, (supposedly taking off). Its really poor that they missed it during production, and it makes Superman look ridiculous.

X-Men: the animated series (1992-1997) (Released)
Time
I'm interested in this project and can't wait to see the finished result! I've been looking for anything that may help for over a week now, but no joy. I've tried every torrent site I know and all my P2P software!! I've also been on the hunt for subs, but I keep ending up going round in circles. I'll keep trying of course, but if there's anything else that might be of use then let me know.

Good call using the Marvel record order for the set. Its a shame WB didn't have the sense to release Thundercats in their intended order, instead of the broadcast order!!

Anyway, keep up the good work, and keep us posted on the progress!

POLL: Your favorite fan edited movie
Time
My favourite at the moment would have to be ADM's Revenge of the Sith. Although the original was an improvement on episodes I+II, ADM really sorted out a lot of the weaker elements of the film.

I think STAR WARS - Episode II.I - Attack of the Phantom should be the list also as not only is it a far better edit than the original, but a very well put together DVD.

I think that Superman 3 shouldn't be on the list though, as its not a fan edit. It was edited for TV under the supervision of the Salkinds, where they threw in all the footage they could to beef up the run time, resulting in a lot more crap footage of an already poor Superman film.

As an afterthought, Deleted Magic would definitely be up there in my top 3 fan produced DVD's.
