Coov those covers are simply amazing. Is there a link to the high res versions of SW-CE (wood) and that newest ESB-CE? Are they somewhere back in this thread?

By the way, just watched the ESB Classic and it's stunning. Excellent work ocpmove!

Getting back on topic, just wanted to add my kudos to ocpmovie for an outstanding job on SW Classic Edition. I'd owned the first TR47 set and this CE version is pretty much very close to perfection as far as fan-made orginal SW versions go. Very seemless transistions between official DVDs and LD material. Aside from ever seeing the finished mverta SW Legacy project this will have to suffice, and it definitely does.

Great job!

Maybe with HD-DVD or Blue-Ray (whichever wins out) we'll finally get that option. If Star Wars taught me anything it's that optimism wins out...

Without a doubt the best film is the original 1977 Star Wars.

ESB is a distant second.

The rest are in a galaxy far, far away.

1. Stormtroopers blasting into the Tantive
2. First appearance of Darth Vader
3. Cantina scene (with Han shooting first, thank you very much)
4. Trash compactor scene
5. Luke's final trench run on the Death Star

I'm in agreeance with Warbler. The original 1977 Star Wars is the best movie in the series. I'll take those goofy cantina monster masks over some excessive CGI orgy ANYDAY.

I recently got the TR47 set as well. Now, I'm far from being an audiophile or videophile, but to my simple eyes and ears it looks and sounds fantastic. Great work! It means a lot to finally have the movies I remember (in the form I remember) on DVD. Big thanks!

Though I am looking forward to seeing one of the Faces LD to DVD transfers, for the sake of completeness.

This will serve to lend more emotional significance to the scene in ROTJ when Luke, Han and Chewy barely escape the same fate.

Nice job. The only things I can think of adding are the Death Star interrogation droid (the big black orb they used on Leia) and maybe the asteroid slug/worm/snake thing from Empire. And perhaps the Death Star itself (as a background?).

I think the original intention was for Greedo and Han to have a gunslinger-type "draw" showdown, like in westerns. There's a concept drawing of that in some Star Wars book (can't recall which one).

I absolutely agree with scruffy. A sonic overhaul of the entire Beatles catalog is long overdue. But, like you, I fear it will be botched by remix engineers who want to "dazzle" and add all manner of new-fangled technical wizardry where none is needed (as Lucas has done with his CGI orgies). The original tracks (and films) speak for themselves. They could be refurbished in a way that maintains their integrity, but sadly that doesn't seem like it'll ever happen.
