I’m not super computer savvy (never having had my own to mess around with) so I can’t claim to understand everything that you said but I think that you’re right that with some patience I will be able to figure out this process and get them onto a portable drive. I really appreciate your response and will spend some time doing my research.

That did cross my mind but I was thinking either getting my hands on a disc (like the old netflix where you borrow a disc then send it back) or being invited to see it (I live in the Rocky Mountains and travel around the US for work). But if there is honestly no way for me to see it other than downloading it, well I’ve got all the proper links saved away and maybe in a year or two I’ll get the necessary equipment.
My dream is to have a setup like Harmy’s with a big projection screen and surround sound and this will be the first thing I watch on it.
Also, if this is appropriate for this forum then I’ll gladly delete my inane comments.

I hate to be ‘that guy’ but because of my current situation I don’t have a means of following this process on my own. I only have access to a work computer and I won’t have the resources to buy a personal computer for at least a year.
I guess that I’m asking if there is anyway for me to at the very least see the despecialized edition once. I own every movie and every season of Rebels and I would love to own the closest thing that we have to the original theatrical release but honestly I would just settle for seeing A New Hope once.
Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide to a desperate Star Wars fan. I’ve been following the despecialized edition every since I heard about it two years ago and am pretty excited that I’m this close.
