Intro sequence to neon noir fan edit of the prequel trilogy
Time

The general ideas behind some of the choices taken deserve to be seen outside the Mann pastiche context. So if you were to retool it into a plain Star Wars edit I'd shift the mystery plot so the dart leads to Geonosis (called Kamino if you like) and Obi-Wan is just inspecting the troops the chancellor has ordered after the death of Qui-Gon.

Nice to see my young Leia at the funeral idea in use even if you did come up with it independently.

I doubt if much can be done about that without re-foley work on the whole edit.

It is an amazing piece of work. Lots of really creative decisions that I've never seen used before and I've seen my share of PT edits.

I love the very subtle way it lets us know Anakin's full parental background without having to do too much work.

I've never liked the Clone mystery story and it still doesn't work here.

I would have dropped it and the senate pass emergency powers to Palpatine in his first scene and have the dart lead to the Dooku instead of the Clones.

Anakin in this edit almost works despite of Hayden.

You get the feeling of a man beaten down by repeatedly losing and desiring control over his fate. For the first time he is the centre of these films instead of a support character to Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon.

Great stuff and such an unexpected surprise.

If I were to suggest one more change I'd pinch an idea from the edit mentioned here. That chap cut out the energy doors dividing Gui-Gon and Obi-Wan and made that sequence flow even more logically. It would add to this edit as would putting back more sound effects and dialogue to the sequences with long passages of music. It's almost a perfect edition of these films which is an achievement. It's certainly worth watching before any other versions of these films are attempted.

How you pictured Anakin pre-PT
Time

I can't disagree more.

Between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back there was so much playground speculation about the world that has since been replaced by the PT.

Luke's dad was a great pilot a friend of the venerable knighted Ben.

Vader murdered him, was forced to breath via a machine and was so resentful he went around denying others breath.

It was a canvas that was quickly filled with imagined tales bolstered by Marvel's comic range dropping the odd hint here and there and then in 1980 the biggest WTF moment. Those two characters collided with the sound of hundreds of thousands of children's jaws hitting cinema floors around the world.

Was he lying, he must be and yet?????

Then there was the glimpse of the scars under the helmet. Vader was just too big to keep mysterious.

It was a master stroke of story telling albeit done on the fly.

The reveal in ROTJ is one of the few aspects of that film I approve of. Vader was never a monster or a robot, he was a fragile old man driven by hate, fear and resentment.

There is a morality tale for you.

Fett on the other hand.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

At this point of the game if Ady wanted to it wouldn't make that much more of an impact on the release time if he took a wee while to tart up those shots.

If he felt it legitimate he would need to do the same for ROTJ:R (assuming there is a similar shot in that film, my memory is a bit fuzzy these days)so by making the set up for one part of the project he would be doing some of the work for the next.

If he deems it wrong he would be kicking himself hard if he didn't make it right.

But maybe he doesn't think it's wrong.

Just get the colons fixed.

Are you here just to bait Warbler? Seriously? :/ you should really know better. This is not something he'll take lightly. This thread isn't for discussion of MOVE, it's for remembrance of the tragedy that took place because of them.

I don't care one way or the other. I'm just pointing out the obvious. B)

See this is why I stay away from here I post a pertinent piece of information in the relavant thread and this is the bullshit I get for my trouble <I8-Ð

Oh look I posted again. Reason being I recently watched a documentary film about this incident called Let The Fire Burn. It paints MOVE as a radical but largely peaceful group forced down a confrontational route by a fascistic police force. I suggest anyone interested in this watch the film. Sadly it is pertinent to organisations of authority the world over. Then and now. The whole thing is up on YouTube .

Hey, it was good enough to win an Academy Award!

Hattie McDaniel got an an award in a film set when and where it was made when it was.

A CGI alien played my a non-caucasian actress in that mode would be Mammy Jar-Jar.

It's no more surprising than if she looked like Ted Burnett.

She is hired to play the character not sleep with director... it's the 21st century so hopefully that sort of thing doesn't happen any more ;-i

It's a bit sad that an non-caucasian actor is not physically on screen again.

Hopefully this time they would have learned from the Stepin Fetchit fiasco and not coached her to play the alien in the mode of Hattie McDaniel.

If the turbine would have been in shot it would make sense to put it in shot.

Ady has a history of putting in these sorts of things like the absent Y-Wing engine pod in ANH:R.

The mock up visually makes sense to my eyes and doesn't take Artoo out of the main focus of the shot.

It's very much up to Ady what he does but it seems to make sense to me.
