***The MeBeJedi feedback thread ***
Time
MeBeJedi,

Like everyone else, I am looking forward to your final product(s) with great anticipation. I have a couple questions:

1. It sounds like you have multiple projects in the works. Will you first release a straight LD to DVD transfer of the "Faces" set?

2. Which leads me to my second question:
I am working with Rikter and Magnoliafan to reproduce the 1977 version of Star Wars as best we can. We have some of the material already, while some footage will have to be recreated (i.e. the opening crawl - my next project.)

Will this recreated opening crawl be part of the "Faces" transfer, or will it be part of a completely separate project? Personally, I am interested in a straight LD to DVD transfer of the "Faces" set containing no recreations or improvements.

Of course, I know this is not a "request line" or a place to demand certain productions from hard-working individuals like yourself. But if it is possible to get a "Faces" transfer devoid of any modifications, that would be great.

Thanks!

Idea: About De-SEizing the DVDs... We need to Vote on Changes!
Time
Although I too am a hardcore OT fan, the only SE changes that I'd like to see are minor improvements that simply clean up the old effects: erasing matte lines, removing those "boxes" around the TIE fighters and other ships, erasing the blob under Luke's landspeeder, fixing Obi-wan's lightsaber in that one shot where it looks like it's running out of batteries (anyone else notice this?), etc. I would have even fewer changes in "Empire" and "Jedi", since those were obviously a bit more polished than "A New Hope" when they first premiered in '80 and '83, respectively.

Other than that, leave everything as it is! No new scenes, new CGI, etc. If Lucas is really that unhappy with the original films, he should simply remake them from scratch. It's been 27 years, after all.

I Just Wanted to Thank....
Time
I've been lurking here for several weeks, and thought this would be a good time to chime in:

I too am glad to see so many dedicated OT fans working hard to make sure these films are preserved in the best way that they can. I recently received my 4-disc TR47 set, and I can't stop watching it. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've been watching only the widescreen '97SE versions of the films for the past 7 years, since all I have besides that is the P&S '95 versions. (So if I have to choose, I'll take widescreen over P&S any day, even with all the crappy changes!) Anyway, it was great to see these films in their original forms, and I was struck by how unnecessary the SE changes are. I expected the films to look somewhat dated, since all I'd seen was the SE for many years, but the films still looked completely amazing! (The space battle in "Jedi" still blows me away.) I'm looking forward to the versions currently being produced by MeBeJedi, Laserman & Zion. Although I generally don't condone bootlegging (I work in the film/TV industry), I feel that Mr. Lucas has left me with no other choice. Hopefully he will come to his senses one of these days.

Anyway, keep up the good work, guys!
