Well, when watching the whole movie, some shots felt a little off to me, and since you're using various sources, I guess this is inevitable. And this one actually felt off to me in terms of definition (like the very last shot leading to the ending credits), grain, etc. in the continuity when comparing to the preceding scene.

This can only be prevented by adding artificial grain throughout the whole movie which may improve the viewing experience but is destruction of picture information.

Except that in the case I mentionned (Lando picking up Han and Leia for "lunch" with Vader as a secret guest), the continuity between the 2 scenes felt smoother in terms of definition and grain in v1.0.

Harmy said : I'm not sure what you mean - this part of the shot it is directly from the BD and the 2nd part is from a very good 35mm scan - I'm pretty damn proud of how good this shot looks now. The only problem here is the blown out windows in the background but they are similarly blown out on the 35mm scan and it seems quite likely, they would have looked a lot like this in the theaters.

EDIT : I forgot to mention this: how come the framing angles of the whole movie are curved?

Hi, Harmy.

OK, I just watched the whole thing and here's my feelings about it. I'm no expert, but hey, what the hell... To thank you for your hard work, the least I can do is to convey you my impressions.

Isn't this shot too bright, like the Obi-Wan encounter desert scene in SW v2.0 was?

http://www.heberger-image.fr/images/57721_ESB_WP_final.mkv_snapshot_01.42.04_2014.06.26_02.39.31_.jpg.html

Isn't this all scene too dark?

http://www.heberger-image.fr/images/45175_ESB_WP_final.mkv_snapshot_01.35.20_2014.06.26_02.38.49_.jpg.html

I really enjoy the color timing you made, but isn't Yoda way greener in this scene than in the rest of the movie?

Actually, there are some scenes that tends to have more saturated colors than the rest of the film which has more neutral colors that I really like. In fact, I noticed some mismatches inside the Falcon cockpit:

I really like what you made of this:

I suppose this is the best source you could get for this shot?

http://www.heberger-image.fr/images/27368_ESB_WP_final.mkv_snapshot_01.26.55_2014.06.26_02.38.06_.jpg.html

Aren't we supposed to barely see the edge of the window on top?

The last shot feels a little off to me. Isn't there a better looking one? Is it because of the transition to the ending credits that you don't have in a good shape yet?

Thanks again, Harmy. This is the best looking Empire Strikes Back I've seen so far. And I'm really glad you got rid of that annoying glowing bubble around the lightsabres in the duel scene.

Harmy's STAR WARS Respecialized Edition '97 - AVCHD and MKV Released

Empire definitely has differences (also the Emperor scream from Jedi added in 1997 on Luke's fall near the end and removed in 2004) and Jedi probably what you mentionned. But I can't recall any differences between 1997 and 2004 on the original Star Wars. The new dubbing actor for Han Solo in the Jabba scene is the same, Obi-Wan scream to frighten the Sand People had not been changed at the time. So where would be the difference?

OK, Tyler. Then, if it's technically possible, one could also restore the things you said on top of the original gunshots, right?

I hope so. Look, I'd love a 5.1 mix of the mono track just as much as everyone else. I'm only stating that's it's more than just the obvious stuff like the gunshot sound FX. It's probably a bunch of things that none of us have noticed like the sounds of cars slamming into each other during the chase scenes, new scream sound effects in the b.g during the big shootout at the station, and I don't think anyone has ever mentioned the new explosion sound effect when Kyle makes the Terminator a'splode.

OK, but come on, not everything is garbage in that 5.1 mix. Like most people, I don't mind the new explosion sounds and other stuff. I'm just talking about the obvious annoyances: the gunshots that are well known, especially the Terminator's gun with laser sighting and the one near the end when he's on the bike, shooting in the rearview mirror. Maybe also the shootout in Tech Noir and the music stuff in the prologue you mentioned, that I had not notice. Just like you, I wish we could have a 5.1 or 7.1 mix, like the one on Jaws, created with original sound elements. But that ain't gonna happen. So if someone could make an in-between custom mix, that would be very cool.

Hello, guys.

Is that 2.1 mono track available on Usenet? While at it, is that regraded version on Usenet as well?

And finally, I wonder... Would it be technically possible to make a custom mix based on the 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio which is on the Blu-ray, except replacing the modern gunshots with the old 1984 gunshots from the mono track?

Info: Back to the Future - without DNR & EE
Time

Hello there,

I've been reading some threads on this site for some time because of Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Editions, and I just now created an account because I cannot find this great version of Back to the Future on Usenet. Could anyone help me find it? What the hell should I type in Binsearch or NZBClub to get that bloody NZB file? I thank you in advance.
