As you can clearly see, Gigapixel beats Super Resolution. To be honest, the results are enough to convince me to buy Gigapixel for continued use, but sadly it is too expensive for me.

I know that all chapters of the serial and the sequel were riffed by Rifftrax. It’s a shot in the dark, but maybe it’s the uncut version for the 1943 serial. Maybe somebody can chime in for conformation.
EDIT: nevermind, they only riffed the Batman and Robin serial.

That suggests that Deep Space Nine either is or was remastered in HD, but for whatever reason (probably the poor sales of TNG Blu-rays), it’s never been officially released before now.
I’m seriously curious to see how this could improve cartoons.

Upscaling SD content to HD or even 4K is something that crops up from time to time. I myself have at least some experience with up-scalers, with my preferred method involving using infognitions Super Resolution plugin for VirtualDub for live action stuff and SuperResXBR for animation. However, I recently became aware of a new up-scaler called Gigapixel AI. https://topazlabs.com/gigapixel-ai/
Needless to say, I grew quite curious about this program. Now, nowadays you can get the Super Resolution plugin free of charge, but to get Gigapixel AI, you need to pay at least $84.99 so one wonders if it’s worth it.
That’s why I decided to have a discussion about it here.

Well, someone uploaded a 720p version on MySpleen - I commented on the upload, but hadn’t started downloading yet, only to open up MySpleen today to find the torrent missing and a “notice” posted directly to me saying “NO NETFLIX CONTENT WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL.”
Not saying I’m the only one who got that notice, but damn, yelling at people for even commenting on the upload?
I think that notice was sent to ALL users of MySpleen because I got the notice too and I didn’t comment on the upload.
The mini series is in 4k. It would be nice to watch it in that resolution. There is no 4k release of the theatrical version yet.
Plus some scenes use different coverage and just play differently. It would be nice to preserve the whole “mini-series” experience.
Correction: there is no OFFICIAL 4k release of the theatrical version. There is a DCP-rip of the movie floating on rutracker last I checked.
Not too long ago, I purchased Red Giant Universe, which is a collection of filters for Adobe Premiere Pro. One of those filters is simply called VHS. https://www.redgiant.com/products/universe/vhs

I also pitched this idea for a commentary track for the film. The track would be Notelu or me and Notelu commenting during the movie about the history of the film, facts about the film, our thoughts on the film, why we did the restoration, the technics we used on the restoration and overall have some fun. What do you guys think?

Calm down. As long as it is just one hit and run, you should be fine. I suspect you got it simply you forgot to seed after yourself.
