Yes Version 1.0 is a lot better and more natural.
For the end shot, I like the Ver 1.0 better. V.2 is way way too dark.
Looked the sample. The grain looks ok. It's not that much. It would be easier to judge if it was 2 separate videos, one with grain applied to the full image, so that we can watch each fullscreen without the other.
No professional restoration job would actually add elements such as dirt and hairs though, that's the opposite of preserving the best possible image.
Or shaky subtitles. I agree.
I just watched that Greedo BD shot. I think the subtitles move way too much. It's more of a distraction and you notice the subtitles instead of the scene.
I honestly don't see why they need to move. You use the BD shots (or other sources) to have the best quality, clean shots. So your work is like a restoration. In a restoration you would also fix any subtitle problems.
So to have them added intentionally, is no restoration and if you are not doing a restoration, you should not use the clean BD or HDTV sources. Why not add grain and scratches and hairs?
Harmy that Falcon looks great. As you remember I reported to you that there was a problem in Falcon jumping a frame there. I see that glitch is not present in Version 2 anymore. Did you change your source footage?

If you use sup subtitles which are for bluray, they will be images, so you can make them any way you want.
As for them to slightly move and have grain, I think it's way overkill and not necessary. They really didn't intend them to be moving originally!
If you don't burn in the subtitles, your release will be international and could be spread more. Other countries can have their own subtitles there.

Wouldn't it be better not to burn in the subtitles? There are many other languages too.
I'm ok with using the Bluray as a source and starting with a new version. I would even suggest you output a 1080p output. It would be easy in premiere. You just replace your video with the 1080p source for the final render.
Sorry it's not mentioned in the first post. Is there a DVD Cover designed for this release?

You know what, I actually tried your work and effort and I didn't like it. It was blurry and I have the original GOUT DVD and it's not as bad as your work. Harmy's recreation is seamless as already it is. The only improvement would be that one day when he has a better computer to use the bluray source and do the entire project in 1080p.

Harmy's work is definitely not a fan edit. It is a preservation effort. In preservation works you always use the best source available and try to recreate what is missing. You could call it all you want except a fan edit. That's the most irrelevant comment I have seen so far.

So Harmy, you are saying that you too see these 3 glitches in your project?
It would be great if you could correct these glitches if you release a future version because your work is the most important of the fan preservations to this date and it would be great to have a glitch free version for the preservation.
I want to get this. Which one is the original resolution and the best to get? PAL or NTSC?

Yes you are right. I just checked it. I didn't notice that before. There are some black boxs in his hair when he removes his helmet.

At these 2 points there are 2 slight jumps. Like it is missing frames. It's right in the middle of the scenes. Have you seen this? It's very subtle. You have to pay close attention. It's like missing one frame only.
